Hi, It's Wednesday, What's New?

Hi My OFF Family:

It's just after midnight ... needed to get up from my broken recliner, so I thought I'd check in and start the thread. Had an early night tonight ... with so few pages now, not as much to do. Found out about a schedule change for November ... originally, my boss had me working next Saturday, but he was mistaken ... now it's Nov. 22 instead, which works out better because I have a pain treatment Nov. 17, so that means I'll be off that day ... won't have to edit on drugs (although that's always so much fun). I'll be able to sleep and relax the whole day now.

Cats seem better today ... don't see any poop outside the boxes (whew!) Scooter is in better spirits today, although he was chasing Diva around, which she gets upset about sometimes.

It's been chilly here and snow is in the forecast, although not a whole lot, I hope. But you never know with the Big Lake so nearby.

Well, enough of me ... what's going on with you? Chat nicely. I'll be back later.

*!*!*!*!*!*!!*!*!*!*!!*   i haven't been posting much lately.  Not sure why but just haven't.

Late last week we received a call that my older sister, Kathie,  was in the hospital with a stroke. She was sent to ICU and had various tests.  Found out it was not a stroke but an infection in the tissue between the skull and brain.  Of course we are relieved but still have concerns.

Tomorrow my sister, Bonnie and I are taking Mom to Kathie's house.  She will stay for about a month.  That was quite a stressful time.  It was very hard on Mom....  We live in Western WA and my sister is about 4 hrs away.  We will stay the night then come back on Thurs or Fri.

I've put off applying for a job til the eleventh hour... lol    and of course now the economy is rotten.  I will be concentrating on submitting applications while Mom is away.  My resume' looks a little bleak because I haven't worked in about 4 years.  I was just enjoying life...  reminds me of the story of the ants and the grasshopper... sigh,   I know I won't be out on the streets but sheeshh  I should have done something earlier....  naw...

I've been doing some sewing for gifts.  I bought fleece and am making bathrobes for the grand kids.  They love the homemade gifts.  Last year it was PJ's and matching pillow cases.  I do a lot of canning over the summer so I put together baskets of canned goodies for the boys& spouses.  I made some awesome chutney from Pineapple and pears with cranberries in it...  I also have a BBQ sauce being tested by various cooking friends.  If the feedback is as good as I hope then I will look into marketing it.  It has always been a big hit.

OK......  I've chatted enough about me....   I'll check in again later...  CIAO

Good morning all.  And a wonderful morning it is.

Yesterday I received my bill for my Texas Rangers season tickets.  Called them right away and added a seat.  That will be my son's/grandson's Christmas present.  Got them at the old price.  As long as I pay in full by 12/17.  I will make sure I do that.

Mary had a good doctor's visit.  Her Parkinson's Disease is very much under control.  If only she could sleep at night.  Tonight she has a sleep study.

Ooops, time for my nap.  Later.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Good Morning Eileen and Everybody,

I still have snow in my front yard. It is suppose to ge pretty warm today so that snow will go away too.
I started going to a skills group on Thursday. Its' purpose is to teach new skills when emotional issues get in the way of living life. I am learning how to deal with my emotional eating. Emotional eating has been the reason I am so obese. I also smoke for the same reasons. To make my lap band surgery work for me I have to let go of those reasons and replace them with the new skills. It is hard going but I have quit smoking----one week. This food bond I have---I knew it was strong but I am finding our just how strong it really is. I eat the pain amd learing how to do without food makes that pain up front and personal. I have a lot of work to do.
One more week of politics left. i can't wait till it's all over. I am sick of all the hate and negativity. i have never seen so much crap in all my life.
Well---I better try and get some sleep.
Love Nancy

Nancy, that skills group on the emotional issues sounds very interesting. I know that I do that with a lot of things. Bill does that too with his smoking. And probably his eating to if you think about it. He is always eating something, smoking or biting his fingernails. Is there information on this type of thing or what? Thanks for any info that you give me.

that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Dear Brenda,
My counselor who also heads the group sugggested that I join it. I would contact your nearest mental health place to see if they offer one. I know there is a book that goes with it. It is called: Skills for Life. I don't know the name of the author. I wish I could be more helpful.

The skills group sounds wonderful. I am four years out and still seeing a psychologist for my issues. I am an emotional eater and an emotional spender ... I spend money for things I really don't need when I get in an emotional mood (lonely, bored, etc.). Luckily, now I have no credit cards so it's only money I have now at the moment. But that's basically how I got into credit hell and had to file bankruptcy, and why I only get half a paycheck now and for the next two years. I swallow my pain and stuff my emotions just like you do. Still do, even after the surgery, just don't do it as much. I have to learn to deal with these things.

I'm tired of the election crap too. Can't wait for it to be over.

Hello, everyone! Yes....Im still lurking around.  Doing well just working hard.

I have enough mandalas now for three different colouring books and will get them printed when I get back home.

Today Oct 29 is JB's 65th birthday so we are driving up to visit my cousins in Quebec along the Ottawa River. and I hear there's a HUGE snowstorm up there ...predicting 30 centimetres so Im taking my ankle-length winter coat and boots.  But I sure can use the break.  We dont plan to be away longer than 5 or six days...it's just an eight hour trip there each way.

Ive booked the lovely B&B where we stayed in August right on the river.  My cousins wanted us to stay with them but we feel better being in our own at the B&B ..we dont impose as much then. But we will have great fun with them...they are our age and we really get along well.  They are planning a big fancy dinner party for JB which is really sweet of them.

Im almost done packing and have a freezer filled with meals for Derek.  So I can go guilt-free *s*.

Im off to bed at 4 am...laundry  is finally done.  I have four hours left to sleep then off we go..I can sleep in the car.

Please play nicely while Im gone.

Good Morning Eileen & OFF Family,

I woke up extra early this morning, I guess I'm just well rested after dealing with this cold since Saturday and making sure I got enough rest over the last few days, staying in, not doing my usual assorted extra curricular activites of gym and AA meetings, actually been doing some lunchtime ones that are near my job, so that is a good thing, but I miss the gym and tonight I will be going as I feel like a slacker, so I woke up at 4, spent time petting Mr. Dil and letting him know that tonight he will not see me until it's almost bedtime (sigh)!

Speaking of snow, I got off the putt, putt train as I refer to the light rail line that takes me to and from the train I take daily from Trenton to NY and in the parking lot, was little piles of slushy snow, I was like WHAT, it's only October, it wasn't much, but darn early this year and then the drive home from the parking lot was fun, the winds were really pulling on the car, love my Corolla, but I do miss my Buick when the winds are like they were last night. . .  hmmm, is this shades of the winter ahead?

Oh well, I owe, I owe, it's off to work I go and with that theme in mind I'm going to hop in the shower.  Be back later to see what the rest of you folks are up to today!

Have a great day, prayers going out to all in need and positive healing thoughts for those who are in need of them,

Hugs, Laureen

Good morning

Eileen ~ I am glad to hear your cats have settled down. They have given you some headaches the past few days.

I didn't work with my client yesterday. Just as it was time to leave the house, I received a call that she was ill. That was a relief because I was tired from the night before.

Today I work with the other client then visit two people from the support groups who had surgery yesterday. I have a good supply of piggy banks which I give to the post-ops. Our surgeon has a full schedule in the coming weeks so I have been busy to have the banks on hand. They look rather cute on my shelves.

Tomorrow Melanie nursery school is having a Halloween parade and party. Mary invited me to go watch the little ghosts, goblins and our tiny princess. She will dress Matthew in his costume too, can't remember if he is a teddy bear - something soft and cuddly, most likely. Melanie will be floating in pink and sparkles, although a devil costume might better fit her personality. She's a darling child but my oh my what a strong will. Takes right after her mother. The 'paybackisa*****' grandchild. Love it!!!!

It is cold and blustery here. My supply of sweaters that actually fit is very limited. Last year I wore the old baggy ones because I had to concentrate on buying new pants all the time. Baggy sweaters are fine but baggy pants tend to fall down.

My weight is down from last year but I am not losing very much now. It has been a struggle to maintain and stop the constant losing. When I weighed 320 pounds, a weight loss of 5, 10, or even 20 pounds hardly showed on the body. Now at 111 pounds, a 5 pound drop is much too evident.

Have a great day.
