update from Eydie
Well, I haven't posted lately because my life has been in a turmoil after having to change from thinking I was haveing a bypass in Arizona, to settling for a realize band i Edmonton, Alberta.
Whew!!!! Getting your mind around that change is a bit of a challenge and I did get depredded for a while, but I think I have accepted the situation now and am prepared to give it my all.
My surgery is scheduled for Dec.3 and I hope that after my first fill ( Jan 20) I will be able to come down to Arizona for a while. Theses Canadian winters are not for me anymore and I love my little park model in Mesa!!
I am sitting here waiting for aphone call as my daughter is in labor with her second child and we are quite excited.
I'd really like to hear from some people who have the band about how they are doing...I am worried that I won't have the weight loss sucess that I was looking forward to with the bypass.
The doc says that after two years , if I'm not losing well he will do the revision to the bypass but i will be 60 then and the older we get the harder surgery is on us .
Any how, hope everyone has a great weekend and nice weather!!!

By the way does anyone know how you can put a line in your signature to say highest weight, current etc.? Finally managed to get my ticker in. Thanks

I just wanted to pop in and say congratulations on the beginning of your new and greatly improved life. I am sure that you are disappointed right now on the change but just know that if that is where God wants you it is for a reason. The reason you may never know but the important thing is that He knows. You can have some amazing weight loss with the lap band too so no need to worry about that. Just ask some of the people here that have had some good weight loss with theirs. I am sure that they will post to let you know. Just takes a while to get going sometimes. :-)
I am waiting for our first grandbaby which is due to arrive the 9th of April. That date may change as we all know but either way both Bill and I are anxious for that to happen. Grandbabies have a way of making the world such a better place in which to live now a days. With all the unhappiness in the world they will always bring a smile and a lot of joy to our personal world.

Hi, Eydie:
Glad you got your date. I had my Realize Lap band on Sept. 29th. I have only lost 16 1/2 pounds but I am now completely off my diabetes medicine and that was my number 1 reason for having this done.
I went to a OH support group today nearby and was the only lap bander there. They had had gastric bypass and other things. Many of them had them 3-5 years ago and had lost 200-150 pounds each. I think the gastric bypass looses quicker but I hear them talking about plastic surgery and I don't ever anticipate having to have that.
I would like to get to 140 and am at 225 1/2 now so don't know if I will ever really get to goal, but do know I will be heathier without a doubt.
Hope you hear good news about your new grandbaby soon.
Blessings,
Jeane
