Good morning Linda!  I remember fried chicken as a regular menu choice in my house, or fried pork chops.  You're right... now we know better and I would never cook like that.

So far this morning I've had my slice of whole grain low carb bread with peanut butter.

Good morning to you sweet Linda. I hope that this find Friday is good to you. Today is Bill's last day of work and then it is 9 days of vacation for him. Most of the times it is so hard for me not to kill him when vacation comes but I will hold back and allow him to live a bit longer. It may be hard at times but I am a real woman and I know that I can do it. ha ha

Nothing much planned for today as far as I am concerned. It is rainy and cold here this morning so I am looking forward to nothing happening. I am already cold and don't need to be colder. I can tell this winter is going to be a hard one on me.

Food is still just food. So can I ask for more than that? I remember a time when my day was based on nothing but food. I am so thankful that isn't the way things are anymore. I am truly eating to live and not living to eat. I never thought that would happen to me and low and behold it has and that is a wonderful feeling.

Pre B: slim fast low carb shake (I was so hungry this a.m.)
B: sf maple and brown sugar oatmeal w/o milk
L: cottage cheese and pineapple
D: stuffed pepper and veggie
S: who knows

I made asparagus last night and Bill said that he could eat them every night. I thought that they were a bit bitter. I would much rather have green beans. So it might be asparagus for him and green beans for me. I just put a bit of Move Over Butter on them with some cracked pepper and onion and garlic powder on them. That makes them so good. Oh now I want to eat some green beans right now! I will hold myself bac****il dinner though. ha ha

I am sending you love and big hugs for today. You and yours are in my special prayers as you already know. Have a wonderful day and a big smile on your pretty face, my dear friend.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Oh, Linda.... it makes me laugh to remember the lard my Mother used to cook with.   Also, she used to save the bacon grease in the refridgerator & use it for frying meat, eggs, etc.    I wonder if everyone's Mom did that or if it was just my family.    I remeber that my Grandmother's apartment in LA had no refridgerator, just an ice box & the ice man came once a week to deliver a block of ice.    Gosh,  now you've got me thinking about all kinds of things, like when the Helmsman drove thru the neighborhood & my Mother bought me a glazed donut.    I'm not sure if these memories are good or not.    I think maybe they're good memories, especially if I've finally learned to turn away from the lard, grease & glazed donuts!     I don't post often, but I do read posts periodically & think of you often.   Someday this fall I may plan a trip to Scottsdale to visit friends.   Any chance I could take you out for a cup of coffee or a protein shake if I make it to your neck of the woods?   HUGS!
