IT'S FRIDAY - Yes it is, yes it is!!! What's new with you????
Good Morning George and my OFF family,
I have not made any plans for the weekend other that cleaning out my closet and working out. The rains should be here tomorrow for the day anyway. Of course my Sunday School class is my priority on Sunday. We also are having our Homecoming at church and I am working in the kitchen to help get things ready. Gotta put a pot roast on before I go to bed on Sat night.
George, painball sounds like it will be fun for you and the guys.
Margo, JeanB and Melissa, Ride a roller coaster for me!! Have fun.

Good Morning George & Friends,
It was a chilly morning here but it's suppose to warm to near 60 - I sure hope so... I'm freezing - what am I going to to when it really get cold. I've been here on Cape Cod for over 4 yrs now, lived the rest of my life in NW Wisconsin. I guess I've become accustomed to this climate now.
I'm on the desk at the museum this afternoon , took some tilapia out to thaw for dinner. They won't take much time at all to have cooked and on the table later.
Our decorations are done outside now and we picked the last 2 items we needed for our costumes last night. I have the whole family coming over for a big get together Nov 2. Sort of an early Thanksgiving. Going to cook up a huge turkey I've had in the freezer long enough. I'm guessing we won't get together for the actuall holiday this way and we'll likely go out - that won't hurt my feelings any ...lol
Well I'd best get some lunch in me then get ready to go. John has the duty this next week - starts today at 4 pm til 8 am next week Friday... so we don't go far from home , or do mu*****ase he gets called in after hours.

George...have a great time with the paint balls. My daughter's best friend and her husband set those up for people. They do a booming business around here. Great way to supplement there income. Have a BLAST!!!

Aloha and good morning my OFF siblings!
WEll, I'm sitting in my "spot" watching the day begin over my beloved ocean. I have goop in my hair...coloring.....so I have time while it does it's magic to chat a bit. Today is a day off for me and I have a teeth cleaning scheduled at 10:00, and then errands, but no work....yeah!
I'm filling my lungs with the fresh trade breezes that are coming through my open windows and doors. As I've said before, this is my favorite time of year on Maui. Visitors are not here much until the holidays, and the beaches are open and free. The temperatures are just about perfect, and shorts and tank tops are my choice for today. Ah, the sun just popped!! Now everything is golden. Only BAD thing about the sun popping up is that I can now see every speck of dust and cat hair floating around my home!! I LOVE my kits.....but oh my, they can shed enough fur to build a couple more cats every month!! I should go dust while I can see it so clearly.........but......well, no I'll chat a bit longer.
So much going on with so many of you. I always want to respond to everyone, but then I would do nothing else!! I'm happy for the newcomers, and hopeful for those who are having surgery, or going through depression, money woes, physical pain, or any of life's other many challenges. This IS a crazy time in our world.
Sen. Obama is in Hawaii right now seeing his grandma "toot." I love the fact that his grandma is "tutu" like I am to my grandbabies....and he has just shortened it to "toot." I wonder if my grandkids will do that someday with me.
My work with the babies at the hospital continues to give me pleasure and satisfaction. Last week I was called in for three days to fill in for an ill screener. I had some interesting babies. One was only 4 lbs. 6 oz. and had an IV line and plugged into a monitor. When I took him to my office to test, the nurses said "Be sure to shout out if he stops breathing!" Yikes!! Such a tiny little munchkin...his head was the size of a small orange.....cute as a puppy. Had all his fingers, toes, etc....just mini mini mini! His hearing tested just fine......so amazing to me! Another baby had his whole head bruised.....purple! I felt so sorry for him. Nurses said that happens sometimes when a large baby comes out FAST. I'm learning so much!
Well, my dear ones....it's time for shampoo and discovery of what this week's color will be!! I have NO idea of what my natural hair color is....I've been coloring it for years and years.

For some reason, it took a long time to get onto the thread. I had to click on it several times before it let me on.
Well, changed the cat food back to what I was using before and still finding cat poop on the cat tower. Plus, it's mushier now again. And I think it might be Nettie who's doing it, not Diva. Got a call this morning from the vet clinic confirming my appointment, but now I'm wondering if I should bring Nettie along, too. This pile was really disgusting (if anything can be). I thought maybe I had stopped it, by using the Nature's Miracle (it's supposed to hide the smell so the cat doesn't go back to the spot). Well, it didn't work. Whoever is doing it, still went back there. The reason I think it's Nettie now is ... now this may be disgusting too ... is I checked their butts after I found the pile of poop, and only Nettie's was messy (a long-haired cat sometimes doesn't clean up well). So I may call the clinic and see if I can bring her along. I know it's not Scooter ... he was sleeping on the couch the whole time.
It's a gray and rainy day here ... cold, too. I have the electric fireplace on to warm it up. Yesterday I got a free rotisserie chicken at Meijer for applying for their credit card (didn't get it, knew I wouldn't, didn't want, either, just wanted the free chicken). So I have that for several meals. Tomorrow, I'm going to make chili. It's definitely a chili weekend. Need to check my tomato supply, though. I think I may need some of those. Also got a good deal on my favorite salsa (it was due to expire but it will be just fine in my frig).
Things are changing again at work. I usually have four business pages on Friday ... two regular pages for copy, two for stocks. Tonight, because we now print Muskegon, I have just one page for copy and two for stocks. So I'm going to be doing some other pages to help out. Also told my boss if he needed help over the holidays, I was able to take some OT (please, I need the money, especially if I have a sick cat!) Don't know how I'm going to pay for that yet. I'm going to have to juggle some bills next week and the following week.

I'm at work today, in the middle of interviewing and hiring for a temporary secretarial position in my department. The economy is so tough around here - three of the candidates have master's degrees! It's hard to find full-time work with benefits at a decent salary in a college town.
It's a beautiful fall day here. One of the scrub jays around here has trained me to feed him. He comes to my office window for unsalted peanuts in the shell. He's sitting out there right now, squawking, demanding his food.
Saturday, I'm going to my surgeon's support group to give my two years out testimonial. I don't go to that group much, since it is 80 miles away, but I'll go once a year for a while to give some hope and support to the new folks. Since this is such a new procedure, I'm participating in the research studies to show its effectiveness for 10 years. I hope I'll be one of the success stories!

It has been a good day here in Virginia. It is my payday also, of course I wrote so many checks for bills it didn't last long.
Tomorrow I have a workshop to attend from 10-12. At 12 I go to my first OH support group and am looking forward to that. Then tomorrow evening the church has its monthly community dinner. Luckily they are making potato soup, so I will be able to eat a little of that. Saturday will be over before I know it.

i'm waiting for melissa and jeanb...we drove to pick up more meds and more food for chico--STILL no results from the test--not knowing is almost as bad if not worse than knowing...and we have now spent almost 6 weeks of my pay--which i did NOT have banked...
i'm bundled up part way for the weather- it's raining here- will finish when the gals arrive...have my camera and my fanny pack and i am ready!!!! cedar point is right on lake erie so it will get chilly tonite....
did i tell you all that we have to take michael to an orthopedic oncologist next tuesday??about that "light spot' on his left femur...ortho guy says he doesn't think it's cancer but he wants this other doc to check him out..i am worried...we're carrying films and there are plenty!-
then today in the car, i swear michael was trying to pick a fight...the tensions are just getting to be so bad...ppl in ohio seem to forget how to drive when it rains- we had to sit for two accidents and then passed by a few more , trying to keep my cool while driving and simply wanted to pull over and cry or scream or both....
ok=- enuff whining! it's friday and pretty soon i'm goin out on a date with my peeps!!!!
