IT'S FRIDAY - Yes it is, yes it is!!! What's new with you????
...and TGIF!! It's payday here for me today too. One more reason to just LOVE Fridays.
Woke up to a f-f-frigid day today! A hard frost came over night, and it was only 25 degrees when I left for work. Up to 29 now!!! It is supposed to be sunny today, and actually climb to 60, so it won't be a bad day at all.
Went to one of my support group meetings last night. I really like attending, because I always get SOMETHING out of it. Most of the patients who attend are RNY patients... but a few of us lapbanders come too. Either way, I figure the support is a good thing! One of the (new) gals that attended last night is going in for revision surgery from lapband to RNY. That concerned me a little, as I am only 5+ weeks out from surgery, and I wanted to know what kind of problems she had with the band that had caused her to make this decision. She was very good about explaining it to me, and told me that the complications she had were very, very rare. I was glad to hear that, because being so early out (and being in a 3 week stall already) I sometimes wonder if I made the right decision lapband vs RNY. I'm sure I did... I just need patience.
George, how right you are! Joining the Y was a big step.... now I just have to use it. Hubby and I are going up there tonight after work to use the gym for awhile. We usually go out to dinner on Friday nights, and since my surgery it's not half as much fun as it used to be to go out to eat. So we might as well change it up a bit and get some benefit, right!?
Hope you all have a fabulous Friday!
Vicky
How are you all this week? I've had some ups and downs this week over some stuff that probably doesn't matter in the long run, but did to me. Oh well, I may be having more time on the weekends anyway out of the whole thing!
I had a nice surprise when I got home from work last night, someone had raked all my leaves! I looked closer and they had mowed the front yard too! My neighbor across the street did it. I went over and thanked him, and then chatted with he and his wife for a bit. Such nice people. They are about my age, actually I think in our section of houses we are amoungst the youngest.....go figure!
Hope you all have a nice weekend, and I am so glad Candy is going to Dallas! Hmmm, you know, I'm a rusty nurse too.......I wonder if Thelma needs 2 private duties?

yes-the drive is 38 miles on way.........ouch!!!!!
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Yep, it's another wonderful Friday. My DH and I went to vote this morning. I hope it makes a difference! These are scarey times!
Our 15 yo grandson had arthroscopic surgery on his knee this AM. He has 'dead bone'. May require another surgery later with a bone graft. He'll be dopey for the rest of the day, and off his feet for the weekend. He has been in a brace for 2 mo. He and our son and dil will be down for lunch later. Fish, rice, veggies, homemade banana bread. Haven't decided what for desert yet. I have apples, so probably a pie.
Getting cold here. But I also miss the fall colors of NYS. I was born and raised near Oneonta, my Sissy lives near Albany. No fall colors compare to the ones in the Northeast!
I have the day off today... Yeah... I am going to a quilt show... hopefully find a good book case... buy new cross training shoes... but at least I don't have to chaparone a junior high afternoon dance like my husband has to do today.
I have already worked out this morning... and will be taking a long walk soon.
I love vacation days!
I hope everyone has a good weekend.

Thanks for the recap. So colorful too.
My friend Angela and I resumed our weekly lunch outing. The chit chat was much needed by both of us.
The activity here on the OFF board is full of excitement and surprises. can't keep up with responses. A welcome to new people I have missed. A HUG to the old ones I have missed too.
MY support groups have had a flurry of activities and requests. That has taken up computer time. The computer chair needs some padding 'cause my boney butt sure doesn't have any left. The "Italian Background" has fled the country.
