OT: IT ALL STARTED WITH A FREE TICKET.....
Trust me, Annette, I'm far from an angel. I don't do a whole lot that I don't want to do. Not only am I pleased to be able to help her, but it's nice that my nursing background may make it all easier for her.
The Dallas GTG was special, because of the women who met there. But it was so much more, because some of us got so much more out of that weekend than just making a few new friends. Janet is an exceptional woman, who has become an exceptional friend to me. I don't make good friends easily, mostly because I seldom put myself out to do so, and I'm extremely private about things that really matter to me. She and I have the same attitude about so many things. We're both a bit (a BIT? Hah!) on the naughty side, and we can laugh at ourselves and each other. We did a lot of that on the infamous "Thelma and Louise" road trip.
I have sisters. They're OK. But Janet is truly my "sister from another mother".
I'm glad to be able to help. But I'm also a little embarrassed that everyone thinks I'm doing such a wonderful thing. It's not that huge. Just helping out a friend. 'Cause I can, and she's so worth it.
Don't forget, there's also the fact that it's warm in Dallas, and the Starbucks is close, and I get out of working at my MAHvelous job for a week! If she wouldn't have agreed to let me come to Dallas, I may have had to offer her a bribe....

I just plain think this a wonderful and loving thing to do. There isn't a lot of people that would do some of the things that we do for each other. Now this is the meaning of true family. Family does for each other whatever they can do and our OFF family does just that.
Have a good time, take good care of our patient and get a wonderful dark tan! And drink lots of Starbucks too~it will give you energy~or whatever else you want for it to. Well, it is a good excuse anyway!

I WAS speechless. One should not be holding a cell phone to their ear when someone asks if you have your seatbelt on. I almost wrecked the car (not really). WOW....
The greatest gift anyone can have besides family is a chosen family. I've got the greatest, bar none. While I know this surgery is important, I've been fearful of it and I think it's because, while I've got family and friends here who would be by my side in a heartbeat, I just had a fear of being 'alone' if something happened. Candy will know... and I'll be okay. Damn, I hate getting old. Wi**** was a facelift, arm lift, and boobs... a girl just can't get it all at once, can she? I guess she can... I'll have to save for the next one but I'm thinking Hawaii sounds better....:)
I was at Starbucks tonight and saw Joe. He's prepared for you to come have coffee every morning in my place. One turn off my street to the street light and then straight until you turn into $4.
I am so looking forward to having my 'sister' here. I just know she'll have me drugged up and ask me things that she can hold over my head later.
I'm hiding anything with batteries...

Well, this little family can still surprise me and bring me to tears. What a perfect surprise for you, Candy, to pop in on your road warrior buddy and take care of her during her recuperation! She will be in good hands...and I KNOW you two can't get into too much trouble with Janet reclining or in the "taco" position for five days. (That's what they told me I'd be in after panniculectomy!). Just don't sample her drugs, or god knows what the two of you will cook up to get yourselves into trouble!! Ha!
