OT: IT ALL STARTED WITH A FREE TICKET.....

Starbucks, here I come!!!

I'm gonna use a "FREE" airline ticket to go to Dallas. 

Karen C, Dallas Divas....  You know how that goes....  Those free tickets can be the start of something so much bigger.....

I miss my Thelma, and it's warm in Dallas.  She'll be taking the "good drugs" and sleeping a lot.  I plan on getting a great tan.  It's in the 40's here, 70's in Dallas.  It's a no-brainer.  Plus, her Starbucks is a mile away, and mine is 30 minutes from my house.

I called her and told her this morning.  She was speechless.  Trust me, that doesn't happen very often.  And her son's reaction was just as good.

Louise is so lucky to have you..not just as a friend and cohort in crime, but a nurse, too!!!!  Geez...I am so jealous!

How ya been Candy??  Sure miss ya.  Can you believe it is almost 7 months since our Palooza??  Time flies even when you're not having fun.

Now why didn't she tell me when I  talked to her about an hour ago?  Candy, I am thrilled that you are able to do this. I had the big talk with her yesterday about "letting" people help her who are asking to. I understand being the totally competent, in charge, I can do everything myself person, but she will need someone there for a few days whether she realizes it or not. And her own personal Nurse Louise! It can't get much better than that. Give Joe a hug for me.

She didn't know before you talked to her.  I called her at 8 am her time, which would have been an hour before the two of you talked, I'm thinking.  She had no idea I was planning this.  Hell, I had no idea I was planning this until a few days ago.  I spent some time juggling my work schedule yesterday, decided I might be feeling ill Nov 3 and 4, called her son Mike to make arrangements for transportation to and from the airport, and booked the tickets last evening.  I called her this morning on her way to work and she almost drove off the road, I think.

Actually, when I think about it, I didn't even ask her if I could come.  I just made the arrangements and then told her afterwards.  So much for "letting" people help.  I ran over her like a bulldozer. 

She and I are so much alike.  So damned independent.

Besides, you know how that free ticket stuff can snowball...

Good thing we don't have a bit more time or we'd all be right there in Janet's little home in a shoulder to shoulder slumber less party! Why don't you throw Janet in your suitcase and beeline it for San Diego. My cruise doesn't leave til Saturday morning Nov 1. You've got lots of time! Drug her up. She'll never know the difference. We can leave her drugged in the room. She won't even know she left home! Is that a plan or what???? Hugs,

I figured with your post yesterday you were going to try and surprise her like she did you.    That is such a sweet memory of Pittsburgh.  

Have a good time and enjoy yourself.  I'm sure Janet will appreciate having such a good nurse!

I'm in Canada and it is COLD but my house is nice and warm.  So anyone wanting to come my way is always welcome.

Surgery is Nov 5.  and I could use spirit boosting as well.  Getting very anxious.
