Coming out of the shadows.....
Hi Vera,
Very good point.......INCREASE MY FONT!! I should've realized that myself, my eyes are not as good as they used to be either! You wouldn't happen to know, would you.... is there a way to default my responses to the larger font? It sure would make it easier than having to "remember" (the mind isn't what it used to be either!) to increase it. I kind of like this one better too... it seems to increase the space between lines.
Sounds like you have a very lovely family. Thank you for introducing yourself to me and for taking the time to tell me about them.
And congratulations on your weight loss success so far!! WTG!
Hi Vicky! Glad you made it over to this forum. I have enjoyed getting to know all these wonderful ladies, and the fine few gentlemen that hang out here as well. Everyone has been very welcoming to me and I know they will also accept you here with open virtual arms! Congrats on doing so well in your weight loss so far. Hope to see you tomorrow nite at the support grp meeting. I've missed your face...which btw is much smaller than the last time I saw it., and I love the new photo! You look great!!!
Huggs!

How are things progressing for you?
Thank you so much for the welcome, and I'll be seeing you around!
Hugs!
I'm doing great! I went to work this week at the daycare and last nite was feeling a little worn down...My port was sorta bothering me from all the bending I did, but today I took it easier and I feel much better. I have also lost 32 pounds and I am so happy! My jeans were falling off me (as are all my pants) so I bought a new pair yesterday and they are two sizes smaller. Gotta love that!!
Ok, don't forget the mtg is tomorrow nite. I can't wait to see you!
Huggs!

Welcome!
I actually like being over 50 - greater wisdom, stability and patience, less drama (most of the time).
The band has worked very well for me and I hope you also have a good experience with yours.
I was born in eastern MA, went to college at U.Conn., and lived in western MA for many years. We've lived in TN for 9 yrs and though it isn't as pretty here as it is in the Berkshires, we sure don't miss the northern winters!
Did you know there are lap-band and Realize band forums here on OH? I don't know why there are 2 of them, and I've heard there isn't a lot of action on the Realize forum, but there's plenty of band support and knowledge on the lap-band forum. There's some drama over there every now and then, but nowhere near as bad as on the Main WLS forum, so check it out this time. But know you will ALWAYS find kindess and support here on OFF.

Jean, It's funny your traveling like you have. I grew up where I live now, in RI, but after HS graduation, I moved to Nashville to attend college...I ended up living there for 25 yrs, and then 10 yrs ago, I moved back to New England. Doesn't life take us the strangest places?

Well, it really is a small world, because I also lived in RI for a few years (first Bristol, then Pawtucket). I worked in E. Providence for Outlet Specialty Stores, then a few other small RI companies, then in Providence for Grinnell Fire Protection. Then I fell in love with a guy who lived in Western MA, and moved out there (it didn't last, but eventually I found my current husband there).
I like the Nashville area better than where I live now, but it's more expensive and trafficky there. I am totally into the laid-back rural TN lifestyle now!

Jean........ in all seriousness, I am so honored by your response. Seriously..........
I lurk over on the lap band boards too, lol, and I rarely miss one of your posts. You are my favorite inspiration!! Your recipes, your advice.... everything.... lol.... I'm sounding like a groupie now, aren't I???? Sorry.
The fall colors are beautiful here right now. Hubby and I went for a drive last weekend, and I was in awe at the spectacular hues! I live in central Mass.... a little southeast of Worcester. (They've finally taught me here that it ISN'T pronounced like it's spelled!)
I don't blame you for not missing the winters. I'd LIKE to be able to miss them!! Coming from MI to MA, I didn't gain any reprieve from the cold, snow and ice... yuck.
You mean "WOOSTER?" LOL!
How would you pronounce "Gloucester?" "Gloster" or "Glowcester"? or "Glochester"?
Recently I took my elderly mom to a new doctor here in TN. His nurse asked us where we're from. I told her the Northeast. "You still have that accent," she said. "Not so much," I said, thinking, We do NOT sound like the Kennedys! And we don't!
My father's family is from Michigan (Bay City), and his sister, who has lived in eastern MA for 60 years, still sounds like she's from Michigan.
