SOMEBODY LIE TO ME.......

Tell me that this darned surgery will make me lose some weight.  I've gained every pound I was hoping to lose to put me at 149.  I hit the scale at 162 this morning.... I've maintained 154.5 for over two years.  Why now?

Tell me it won't hurt.  Tell me I'll be back to work in four weeks.

Hey, be a man... tell me to trust you.  I'll believe it.

I've never been more UNprepared for anything in my life.  My kitchen looks like it's in a disaster zone.  I'm slapping underwear against the wall so it will loosen up so I can wear it...:)  I've not got food ready.  I have no clue what I'm going to wear when I get home.  All my clothes are fitting.  I only have a week before surgery.  Quite frankly and don't anyone say a WORD... I'm not sure I have any help.  Mike did say he'd come over Saturday...he'll probably stay Saturday night but yanno, a man/son is pretty useless when it comes to motherly bathroom duties and stuff like that.  I'm staying in the hospital for two nights so I can be a little more mobile when I get home.  I will get on Craig's list and see if I can find a tub stool.  A friend has a walker for me.  I have a little black rocker recliner to sleep in...not a comfy one for sure, but it will have to do since I'm told I can't lay down.  I bought a bunch of Michelina's.. not very WLS friendly but will fill the tummy and it can microwave.  I've got a few soups.

I think I'm whining.  I'm really pretty scared.  Right now I just want everyone to know I love them.

michelina's are ok for now.... and i have a hunch mike will help where he is needed....

love you..............whine away..............

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Margo,

You said the magic word.... muumuu.... I have one that KarenS sent me.  It will be perfect.  I did get in my drawer and found three size 4x gowns I bought for when I had my WLS 4 yrs ago.  Funny, how you just can't part with some things.  They are so darned comfy.  And since I don't have a 'man' around, I can wear them.... AND, I've got the slippers that Beth had in the Forever Box that will be great on my feet.

I guess I was just having a whiney pity party tonight.  I started to delete, but I think sometimes it doesn't hurt for people to know you are human...:)

You'll be ok Janet. Just remember to take every precaution to keep the wound and bandages as clean as possible and empty your drains often. I did not have a lot of pain with mine. I was just uncomfortable for a while because of the drains. If you have questions when you get home send me an email and I will try to answer as best I can, otherwise, I'll lend you my ear and you can ***** all  you want.  You'll be gorgous when this is all said and done.

Barbara,

Thanks for the offer.  I know it will be fine.  KarenC didn't have a lot of pain, she said it was like having a tight rubber band around her.

There is a gal in our Texas group who is having some issues with pain.  Everyone's level is different.  I'll be fine as soon as I can get a ride to Starbucks.

Janet, wish I could come down there and help you ... I would do so in a heartbeat. But I have no vacation time left and no money (as always).

First, go out and get yourself some Lean Cuisines or Healthy Choice or something better than Michaelina's. Man, I live on Lean Cuisines (and have for four years ... and I haven't gained ... or at least not much).

I have a lot of what you need, but unfortunately, I need it in January so it wouldn't pay to ship it to you.  Like the thing you put on the toilet seat so you don't have to go down as far (can't think of the name of it for the life of me) and the shower tub bench seat ... man, am I glad I couldn't sell that ... and a walker, and two reachers, and sock grabbers, etc.

We love ya, of course we do. Someone down Dallas way will take care of you, you know they will ... you have a good son who will help you with a lot of things and some good girlfriends down there. If you need someone to talk to, I'm always available.

Eileen,

You know me, I'll skirt the world to keep from having drama in my life..... I'd soooo much rather laugh...and kinda think I am.  I'm really happier in my life now than I think I've ever been.  Life is really good for me right now.  I think I might be so happy I'm afraid to do something that might jeopardize it...:)

I took the kids to the Zoo Sunday and it was rather humid.  I was sweating under my panni and it was just miserable so I know I need this surgery. Vanity, be damned.  I'd rather have a facelift.

Glad you are getting something done about your knees.  You've been in such pain.  That's just no fun.  I'll bet this new revision thing you are doing will be the ticket to a better you....

And you're right, I've plenty of girlfriends... I've plenty of friends... I just hate to whine and let anyone know I'm not superwoman....

I just can't even imagine what it will feel like not to have this heavy thing laying on my legs.  I sure wish they'd lipo the tops of my legs.  I may ask.

I can truthfully say, if anyone has a teaching hospital near them, they should check out their residency programs.

Now for the fun stuff.  I'm getting a bellybutton ring.  I'm going to the jeweler's to pick it out Saturday.  That and a red thong.  Dammit, I might as well have a little fun out of this.

Oh a bellybutton ring and a red thong! You are a wild and crazy woman, Janet! That's more than I did for my 50th birthday (my wild and crazy things were to get my ears pierced for the first time and to get my hair colored back to the blond it was when I was younger). I know there's not a bellybutton ring or a red thong in my future. But we want photos of yours!
