Good morning all,

I have been up since 2:30, woke up with lots of things on my mind.  Couldn't fall back to sleep so climbed out of bed at 3. Made a cup of soothing tea.  Still wide awake....been spending some more time cleaning up my desk........lots of paperwork came in during the past two weeks for my MIL and my mom.  Mostly Insurance paperwork and one SS report to do for MIL. I know I'll be sleepy later as I didn't even go to bed till 11 pm.

Today Earl & I will be running around  doing some errands and grocery shopping. Then to Jen's for awhile. The girls went to their dad's yesterday after school, so we don't have school bus duty till tomorrow.

Last night I started a hat for Cheyanne, tore it out twice as I didn't like the way either yarn I bought to go with the purple boucle looked. So I'll stop at wally world today for another skein of the purple boucle and just make it that way.  The yarn is kind of thin when worked up so need to double it so it will be warm for winter.

Margo, sorry to hear about Chico. Our pets are such a huge part of our families that when they are sick we hurt too. I hope you get good news from the vet/lab.

Guess I'll go start the coffee now...Earl will be up soon.
Hugs, Paulette

Morning all........
I woke up early too and had to make a bathroom run....also Fluffy was meowing for a drink from the bathroom faucet.....dang, she's so spoiled rotten!  Anyway, I took my thyroid and went back to bed for a while.

Took the van in yesterday to have the oil changed since I put over 4,000 miles on it in the last month.....when they called me up to pay the bill, she told me the intake manifold gasket is leaking coolant and it needs repaired to the tune of ........$900...........OMG, I nearly fainted.  I told her I would let them know.....so I have stewed and fretted over this and decided to take the van to another repair shop and have them check it out.....sometimes I think dealerships try to take advantage of us women, so I'm not doing anything until I get another opinion.  I plan to trade the van off in the spring and sure didn't anticipate having to make such
costly repairs......it only has 45,000 miles on it and it's a 2002.

Doing laundry today and nothing much else....oh, have my two Tuesday piano students.  Two more students will be starting up on Thursday.....pretty sure this will be my last year to teach.   It's been fun and I've enjoyed the children but on to more traveling and such while I can still enjoy it!

Started our book club selection, The year of Fog, so far it's pretty good...

Going to make some multi-grain blueberry pancakes for my breakfast this morning....just sounded good.

Pray that my DS's variance goes through tonite so he
can put up his pole building as planned.....I plan to attend the hearing at 7 p.m. for support.

Pat R.

P.S.  Sorry to hear that Chico may have a serious problem, Margo.  Will continue to keep you in my prayers.

Good Morning Offers Everywhere !
It's chilly bright morning here on Cape Cod... supposed to be quite chilly all week with some rain thrown in for added measure.... oh yippee .  It's 35 now, heading up to 61 for our high today. It's been quite windy but that's calmed down finally. You should see all our ghosts in the yard swaying in the breezes... I made a few more of them - much to John and Phils' excitement - now we have 162 of them flying all over the place ! We get folks driving by real slow ; some even stop , a few honk their horns, and if one of us is outside - they'll raise a thumb in approval or some will even pull over to chat.... we have such a good time with our decorating... Our street sees a lot of pedestrians and boy do they take their time going by ...lol.  I'll get some photos this weekend and post a couple . I still haven't gotten our vacation pictures editted ...
Today I have crafts at the library and then am going to make a giant pot of chili when I get home, that ought to warm us all up good and be good for us too.
I need to spend an afternoon  doing some clean up in the flower beds and till some manure into the vegetable garden ... we'll have to borrow or rent a tiller but it'll be worth it next summer to have some better soil to work with... it's a giant sandbox here so amending the soil is a must. I've been saving all my coffee grounds in a gallon container and when it fills I sprinkle it over various beds.
Well,it's time for me to hit the shower and get myself ready to be crafty....

Good morning Carla & all. I have been so busy the last week. I am trying to get the yard ready for winter. What an awful thought! Went to a birthday party for one of my granddaughters on Sat. They sure grow up fast.

I have a lunch date today & will be meeting Phyllis for lunch on Friday.
Margo I hope Chico gets past all this soon. Our pets become our kids, don't they? Hope you all have a great day!

Good Morning Carla and everyone......

It is great to see you starting the thread this morning Carla.

I hate clutter too. I have one closet I really need to tackle soon!!!

Margo...prayers for Chico...poor baby....hope he feels better soon.

Nothing much happening here. Work as usual. I need to leave soon as this is my on the road day....ugh!! At least gas has gone down!!!

My daughter and I had a scare yesterday. The principal at Kyleigh's school called and said Carrie needed to get to the school right away. Kleigh was having a breakdown of some kind. They said she was talking about her mom (Carrie) being on her death bed and how her Aunt  is going all over telling everyone she is a drug addict. Many other things were said as well. Crazy off the wall things!! Carrie said are you sure you have my daughter. That doesn't sound like her at all. Carrie told them she was not on her death bed and Ky's Aunt lives in Iowa and would never say those things. The principal was sure it was Kyleigh. Carrie told him to look her picture up to be sure. He did and said yes it was her. Carrie left work upset, scared, crying all the way home, driving 85 miles an hour down the interstate. She called me immediately and I rushed to gather a few things and head to St. Paul. About ten minutes later the Principal calls back.....yup....mistaken identity!!! It wasn't Kyleigh!!  Carrie picked Kyleigh up and immediately went to the principal's office. Needless to say she was more then alittle upset!! They apologized to both Carrie and Kyleigh. The other girls name was Kaylie...close.. but they didn't look anything like each other.  We feel bad for this girl and her family but what a scare for us!! Needlesss to say I didn't end up having to go to St. Paul.

I am wishing everyone a peaceful and blessed day. Prayers to those in need.

Love and hugs to all.......connie d

connie--omg--in this day and age where we have to have id's to use the bathroom (well it seems like it!) one would think that the school would be so much more careful than that--oh...carrie must have been out of her mind with worry...

hugs dear one!!!!!!!!!

Aloha and good early morning OFF family!

Carla...I'm sorry your pouchy is being grouchy. After six years, I guess it's good to know that she still works though. I sometimes wonder about my "Gracie." She lets me eat an awful lot of food at one sitting........but I don't gain any weight.....it all seems to just go in one end and out the other.....Ha! (TMI)

Margo...so sorry about your sweet bird friend......AND the money it takes to see a vet! Hope it comes out that it's something treatable.

It's 4:30 a.m. and still totally dark outside (but warm). This is the 2nd morning in a row that I've been called in to the hospital to fill in for another newborn screener who is ill. After I test my babies, I will go to work at the agency....so it will be a long morning. Yesterday I had eight babies to test and it took me 3.5 hours. One poor dear baby....a big one, 9 lb. 2 oz.....had a terribly bruised face.....almost purple. He must have had a rough time coming out. I was extremely gentle with him!!

Yesterday afternoon there was a wedding down on the lawn by the ocean. It was so lovely to watch from my 3rd floor vantage point. The tables set up by caterers were covered with tropical flowers, and the bride and groom wore beach kind of clothes....long white muu muu with a gorgeous multi colored lei for the bride, and white pants and shirt with a maile lei (green leaves) for the groom. There was ukelele music and a hula dancer during the dinner. I was so glad the wind was not blowing...it was a perfect afternoon for a beach wedding.

I had to laugh at the kitty who meowed for a drink out of the faucet! All the wonderful animal stories we have in the OFF!! I love them. My little Popoki (Poki) is a brat! She "talks" all the time.....and if I don't talk back to her, she gets louder until I call her and then she comes for her vigorous back scratching. They do so train us don't they!!

Susan, I feel for you standing for 11 hours....I can't even imagine that. On the other hand, it is a miracle isn't it that you are physically able to do that. I hope your PS fixes up the places that you don't feel he did his best on.

To all of you..........thanks for sharing your life with me. This is the first place I go in the morning, and I always fill up my tank with the TLC that is so freely given in this room before I begin my day. HUGS to all of you.....!!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen
