IT'S SATURDAY - What's new with you?

Mary informed me that my plans for this evening are wrong.  I forgot about a Spaghetti Dinner and Auction at the church for the music program.  So, guess I will be there.  But I set my DVR for both the baseball and football games.  When I get home, I will watch the baseball game first, then decide if I want to check out the football game.  Don't really have any strong support for either side in the football game, just that it is two ranked teams.  Now baseball, well, it's baseball.

Good Saturday morning all my beloved OFF family. I hope that each and every one of you enjoy your Saturday, my favorite day of the week. Saturday is my favorite day because the week end is just beginning and not ending. It ends to fast as it is. Besides I Love Lucy is on for a marathon on TV Land. How can it get any better than all of that?

Bill and I are joining my cousin and his wife and grand daughter for a day at the apple orchards. I have never been there and it sounds like fun but I bet a LOT of people too. I don't like crowds but what are you going to do. Bobby's dgd is just over a year old and the cutest little thing you would ever want to see. But then again she will go down on the list once my Baby Whozit is born.

Misty got shampooed and clipped yesterday and Jeannie called me and told me she had fleas! I was shocked. I guess the scratching on her neck was not the long hair. She got dipped and she seems better. Yesterday I was concerned about her tho because she acted strange. Or maybe I should say acted stranger. She can be an odd duck at times. She just had to be so close and wouldn't leave me alone either. Bill said he thought that she was just upset about the dip because she had never had that done. She seems alright this morning. But the little devil is getting into everything and making a mess. For some reason I caught her on my counter in the kitchen and I smacked her bee hind. She is getting into the water dish and making a mess of it. When I gave her fresh water this morning I told her to stay out of it and not to get it all over the floor. Then I no sooner left the kitchen and I heard her getting into it. She was a little furbrat but now she is a full grown furmonster. But like Mom said about my little dog Britty "She may be a little devil but we sure do love her". That sums Misty up in a sentence.

Bill spilled his tea all over the carpet that was just cleaned a couple of weeks ago. Now he is using the stain remover to take care of it. He said that stuff was really good. He is looking for more stains now. He is compulsive about the things that he does. He is also very anal. I once told him that if I knew then how anal he is I would have had to reconsider marrying him. ha ha

I highlighted my hair yesterday. Or I should say that my niece did. I got some highlighter and she came over and done it. It was simple and so I think I am going to do it from now on. I got the highlighter for red hair. I use to be one and no one can believe that since it is so dark now. There is only one true way to know if you are a real redhead and I am sure that everyone knows that one. It looks like a reddish blondish look on my head now. Bill said that it looked better than before. I think it is because the Grey is covered now. My niece Autumn told me that I looked younger, in fact Bill told me the same thing come to think about it. I asked Autumn if I looked 20 and she laughed. I guess that must be to young~or maybe I look younger than that and that is why she laughed. What do you guys think? I am banking on the younger than 20 myself. Yea right! Not in my lifetime!

I better get to going. I have a shower to get and some things to do around here. Nothing much since this week end is one for us. That is going to be fun. I am sending love and hugs to all and you are all in my prayers. Special prayers are going up for those in need of them. Have a wonderful day and know that you are loved.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Morning all.....
Well, I've just finished cleaning my house from top to bottom.....did some special cleaning and it looks nice. I've been on a tear of cleaning out drawers and other places....that happens to me once in a while....most of the stuff is old and useless and so it's gone by by. I am really a "neat freak".....shame on me!

I'm killing time until noon when I have a teleconference
for OH leaders .....it lasts an hour. We usually have one
every month or so. I really need to get off my duff and
get going on the new Support Group for the Sturgis Area...
this week has been so busy, I've not been able to make
phone calls to get the place secured and some advertising in the local paper......I must do that this next week.

The sun is shining brightly here but it's only in the high
40's....beautiful fall day and the trees are spectacular.

The Secret Life of Bees movie came out yesterday but its not showing here locally....our book club wants to go see it as we read the book...it will probably be here in a week or so. I wanted to see Road to Rodanthe but it hasn't been here either or maybe it was while I was gone...
heard some say it wasn't that good but others loved it.
I am going to watch The Kite Runner this weekend....got it from Netflix...hope it's as good as the book.

Time to run now.....have a lovely weekend and enjoy
the beauty of God's creation.

Hugs,
Pat R.

Hi, everyone.

This morning I helped others at our church to servce at the local food bank.  We served over 50 people.  They get a good supply of canned goods, frozen goods and fresh produce.

I have to work on a funeral this afternoon.  The local funeral home called and asked me to do the funeral from a man who lived out of town  The family asked for the local Methodist minister and that is me.  Visitation is tonight from 7-8 and the funeral is tomorrow at 2.

I've done quite a bit of walking today for exercise so that is out of the way.

Hope everyone has a great Saturday!

Hello George and my OFF family,

I hope you are all having a great weekend.

As you can see I broke down and got a new picture for my avatar.  Took a couple of them trying to get one for my ads as a realtor.  Hope it looks ok.  Well, I guess the real problem is that it looks just like me!  LOL

Today is going to be a lazy day.  They only thing I plan to do is to make a pot of homemade vegetable beef soup and then can the leftovers for a later day.  It is a little *****illy here today so it is a good soup day.  Our high is supposed to be around 60 degrees today.

Going to go workout a bit.  Oh yeah, scales finally started to drop a little bit. Down another pound.  Yeah!!!!! Every little bit helps.

Sending prayers and hugs,

vera; the new pic makes you look younger!!! who hooo !!!!!!!!!
beef soup--yummo! we're working on a pot of chili- will take a few days--then i think it will be turkey soup! BIL gave us some turkey he had hunted- need to use it up before i can buy a regular turkey to cook -i have been "in the mood" for turkey dinner ( no stuffing!)

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hi George and my OFF family:

I'm really late getting on here. I stayed up til nearly 3 a.m. ... I was a baaaad girl last night ... got a taste for some ice cream and had some Ben and Jerry's American Dream Cone (my fav) in the freezer ... usually I can have a little and it doesn't bother me. And I didn't really have that much (I didn't think) but as I was watching TV, my tummy really started to bother me; I thought I was going to barf. I really wanted to, too. But nothing happened. Finally, the show I recorded (from last week) was over and I went to bed, started to read and then had to rush to the bathroom ... nothing but a lot of gas. Was sick for awhile but didn't throw up. Read until I felt OK to go to sleep. Like I said, I was up until 3 ... not that it's that late. I want to throw the ice cream in the garbage ... and I love my ice cream in moderation (like a half cup, which I thought that was all I ate ... or maybe a little more). But for some reason, it didn't agree with me last night.

Anyway, this morning I slept til 11 ... woke a couple of times with Diva snuggle under the covers and purring away and Scooter on top and cuddle in my arms purring ... it's a wonderful way to snooze. Finally got out of bed after 11,  had my AchievOne, read the paper, watched a little TV. Showered, went to Michaels to get some paints that were on sale to work on the ceramic projects I brought home and then spray to finish them. Well, the paints were 2 for $1 ... but there were some of the same brand that were "gloss" and then there acrylic ... the acrylics were on sale, not the gloss ... I didn't notice that until I got up front. I told the cashier I didn't want the non-sale items. So then I had to go back through the store, get more paints, remember the ones I still needed. I wound up spending $19+ total (I did save 40 percent on the spray with a coupon).

Then I stopped at Starbucks ... had to make a mad dash into the bathroom as my tummy had urges from last night's ice cream. Now I feel much better! Got some coffee to go, stopped at a grocery store to get some salad and spinach that were on sale (my greens were really looking poor!) and eggs also (99 cents a dozen) ... there was a poor Boy Scout standing outside the store selling popcorn and I'm a sucker for scouts (being a former Girl Scout and Girl Scout leader) ... but I was running out of money and didn't have enough to buy any of his products (and I have all that popcorn on the cob I bought in Frankenmuth ... any of you try it yet? yummy! and it makes so much popcorn too!)

George, I plan to watch the baseball game tonight, but I know my nephew is going to be glued to the Texas football game ... he's a Texas grad (masters in accounting ... his wife is an Aggie, though).

Well, I have one litter box dumped and another one is stinkin' to high heaven and really needs cleaning. So I need to get to that. Hope everyone has a good day. It's gorgeous here ... white puffy clouds in a light blue sky, the leaves all changing colors, a little cool but not cold. If my knee didn't hurt, I'd go for a walk.

Havea  good day.

The days is almost over but I am still gonna post for Sat.
I got early...really early for me on a Sat.  Drove to Lincoln, Ne ( 90 miles ) for a 2nd annual weight loss seminar.  I drove in fog all the way......kind of white knuckle driving all the way.  I got behind a semi and followed his tail lights.  I made it there by 9 am with seconds to spare.  I think I was the last one to check in.
The seminar was great.  Speakers were excellent , the two Dr's there had an informal question and answer time.  I drove home and stopped to see my aunt who is in an nursing home usually she wants us to leave after a couple of minutes, but tonight she wanted me to stay and eat with her.  I felt really sad that I couldn't since we had a wedding to go to.  I got home just in time to change clothes and go to the wedding.
We didn't stay for the reception, at least I am not tempted to eat cake...ha ha
I am almost looking forward to Monday so I can go to work and get some rest.
