TGIF!!!! IT'S FRIDAY!!!!! - What's new with you?
Hi George and Everyone,
George, we used to go to the timeshare things alot. Got some nice gifts, too. Always an interesting process. Your VISA card and Olive Garden sounds great.
Yahoo for the bigger font. I'm no spring chicken and it's so much easier to see. Thanks for mentioing it, Margo.
Nothing new today except for same ol stuff. Working hard but it's Friday! A very good thing. Nothing much planned for the weekend either. Going to clean - inside and out. Have the repetitive errands to run. Hope to see our little grandson this weekend, too. Always a treat.
Take care,
Kathi

Good morning George and my other much loved OFF family. I hope that this sunny Friday is good for everyone.
My 1 year visit went well yesterday. My labs were good but the B12 was high~2,000 in fact. Here I got some different ones since the ones I usually got was out and I didn't notice they were 2,500 instead of 500 and so Dr. told me to stop the B12. I may do that for a while but then I am going to start taking the right strength. Duh! I am going to put them into the form that Darlene sent to me (thanks for that one, Darlene) and then it will be in front of me. I am sure I am going to need some help in what some of it is. This is the first time I am going to do this. Another learning experience for me. According to my scale I have lost 105.6 and according to his scale I have lost 103. So we are close and they were glad about that one. I told him about the bulgy thing by my navel that comes and goes and he checked it. He said that he didn't think it was a hernia but he thought the scar tissue was looping on the bowel and to keep an eye on it. He said that right now it was alright since it came and went. I go back to see him in a year and he told me that if I have more problems with the spot to make sure to come in. He would get a CT scan and go from there. So I guess all in all it went well. He did not think of me as a failure and that I am doing well. I told him that if I never lost another pound I would not be happy about it but I would be so much happier than I was a year ago.
Today is Misty's hair day. She is getting her shampoo and haircut. She is going to be happy when she gets home. She isn't going to be happy when we put her in her carry case but when she gets home she is going to know that it was worth it.
I got my haircut yesterday and it isn't as short as usual. It is a bit longer and more feathered. It doesn't lay as nice as I had in my mind but I am happy with it. I told Bill that I thought that the length was more acceptable for a woman of my age. AHMMM! I am one that believes in growing old gracefully. And Carla showed me how nice it is to have that fringe on the bottom in the back and I got it again. Thanks so much for that Carla.
I have laundry to do today. I didn't get to it the other day and so today is the day. I hate doing it but what am I to do. We all get dirty clothes and besides~we all have to do some things that we don't want to do. We just have to do them.
I better get going. I have to get my shower and get to moving this bee hind of mine. I am sending love and hugs to everyone and prayers are going up for everybody. Special ones are being said for those in need of them. Have a wonderful and blessed day today and always.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* GREETINGS MY WONDERFUL OFF FAMILY
Today will be extremely busy. My sister has retired from Safeway... 20+ years. Her retirement party is tomorrow. The store gave her a little send off so she is having an open house at the mobile home park center for her friends, co workers, and family. I told her I would cater it for her. We bought food yesterday and today I'm in the kitchen .... which I LUV. I'm in my element in the kitchen. (went to culinary school).
I've done two half sheet cakes and will be doing cheese balls, veggie/ fruit trays, & finger foods for her friends at the open house. Then a family sit down dinner. Chicken wings, shredded beef, veggies, scalloped & Au gratin potatoes, plus a big salad with relish trays.
I'm in my element in the kitchen. I went to culinary school to learn techniques to become a caterer. Then life got in the way. I have been able to do a few parties and events for my friends. Everyone tells me how much work it is but to me it is my "thing".
"Things" are going well for me. Boyfriend is on the back burner... cooling off I think. He is a recent widower and is having difficulty adjusting right now. I know he cares for me but I'm not so sure I can take the Yo Yo effect. His kids think it is too soon, and I understand that. I keep getting mixed messages. And, I understand that too. I'm not so sure I'm willing to wait til he gets himself together and decides whether he wants me in his life or not. Sigh, the drama and trauma of life.
Anyway, I will have to keep busy.... and stay on track..... Millie

Good Morning everyone,
Just thought I'd pop in and say hi. I have Sami here with me this morning, she is sporting a new hot pink cast on her left arm. She fell off the bed last Friday night and broke the upper arm bone near the elbow. The doc said it's a pretty bad place for the bone to break but since she is only 4 it should heal ok on its own. They will take this cast off next Thursday and xray the arm to see if it is healing and the depending on that either another cast or possibly surgery. Way too much going on in my life here yet. Frankenmuth was a wonderful reprieve but then back home and to reality! Future ex-SIL is being a $^%$&*%#$.......................but DD did qualify for $$$ from FEMA for the flood damage...that is a real blessing, now she has the $$ to get the floors completely finished. So things should get back to normal soon here.
ooops... Sami girl needs help...gotta run
Hugs, Paulette

Good Morning Everybody!
Is this size font better? I'm sorry, I didn't realize it was hard to see. I told Margo that I can see close up so its not an issue for me, but I know it could be....
I've decided you guys all get up way too early! I guess I could start writing when I'm still up at 2:00 or so. I've always been a night person, and getting older doesn't seem to be changing it.
I don't have much going on today. Have a couple people coming over to get their hair done. Need to work on Halloween costumes, the party is next weekend. I work best under pressure
And I need to get a picture for my avatar. I hate being a no face...lol
Take care,
Nancy

Hi George and my OFF family:
George, my boss never has problems finding people to work the holidays because they offer double time and a holiday or triple time if you don't want the day off ... I usually take the triple time because it's so difficult to schedule the day off and I need the extra money. With the triple time, it's like getting a real full paycheck again for me! And since I'm not going home for Thanksgiving (no sense in driving to Chicago for one day), I might as well work and get the extra money. We usually bring in snacks and help each other celebrate.
I got home in time last night to see the Red Sox come back and win that game ... I didn't think it was going to happen, but with Fenway Park, anything can happen. My Metro editor Rick, a Red Sox fan, will be happy, but he thought the Sox starting pitcher was going to be the reason. Oh well, it gives me something to watch Saturday night.
Diva is chasing bugs outside the window (the window is closed, she is jus****ching them). It's a bright beautiful fall day, lots of color outside, but it's cool ... I know this because the temp inside is chilly ... almost feel like turning on the electric fireplace (my furnace doesn't go on until it gets to 62).
Pat, that's the coffee from the CoffeeAm.com place ... they are expensive but so good. I am having the White Russian coffee I bought from Zehnders ... oh yum, it's tasty!
I'm so glad it's Friday too ... looking forward to doing nothing for two days again. Catching up on my DVR shows (I have too much saved on it ... I'm two weeks behind ... always watch Grey's Anatomy and ER on Thursdays, though).
My cats were having a yowling cat fight last night that I had to break up. Diva and Nettie were playing nicely and then Nettie laid down on the couch. Well, Scooter wanted to play too ... but Scooter doesn't know how to play nicely, just how to fight, because he wasn't socialized properly as a kitten ...his siblings just fought with him and terrorized him, so that's how he plays. Well, he went after Diva in the bedroom and she didn't like that so suddenly, I hear these screams from the bedroom ... I had to go in and break it up. Poor Diva! She really loves Scooter except when he does this to her. Scooter doesn't know any better because he thinks he's playing, but he's getting too rough for her, and she doesn't like it. Eventually, calm was restored to the kingdom, Diva came up to the safety of my lap and thanked me for rescuing her.
Well, I need to get into the shower and have lunch. It's nearly 1 a.m. I slept til 10 ... could've slept longer but the phone rang once and then the sun was shining.
Have a good day.

Aloha and good morning OFF family,
Hummmm.....I don't see anywhere to change the size of the font on my Text Editor. Sorry, Margo. If I do find it....I'll change to larger.
It's 6:20 a.m. and I don't have to go to work today......yeah! I am taking a friend to a local farmers' market this morning to get fresh veggies, fruit, and a carved whales tale that she wants for her son who is in Japan teaching massage. Hopefully I'll find some cute Hawaiian dresses.....many of mine are just way too big.
This is my favorite time of year on Maui.......it is around 80 degrees during the day, and down to 62 at night. It will stay this way all winter.
OMIGOD...I just got a call from my son...the one with the three babies who had a bout of atrial fibrillation. He just had a heart study done (Myocardial Infusion Study) and his heart is just fine!! He said "Mom, I called you first!" That made my morning, my day, my week, my year!!! He also said "Guess I'll get to watch my babies grow up" Oh, my heart is singing. I was really worried about him. Big sigh.
I'm going to go out on the lanai and sit and reflect and thank the Big Kahuna. Sending hugs to all of you, and hoping YOU get some good news today, too!
Aloha nui loa,
Maui Karen
