6 month surgiversary/slow loss
Had my RNY 6 months ago today. Have only lost about 56 so far. I am happy for that but disappointed at that same time that it is not more. I was always a slow loser on diets, too. I am 54 and going thru the change. Anyone else lose slowly but still have a good total after a year to 18 months out? Need hope for the future. Started day of surgery at 267 and now at 211 lb's.

cyrena...i was/am a slow loser--- also- you probly are considered a "light weight" meaning not really so awful lot to lose as some..i am...i think-now this is MY theory that the slow losers tend to not get as wrinkly as some of those who lose quickly...just my theory i am not a medical doctor nor do i play one on tv!
i also have to think that your body going thru the change is hanging on to everything it can...you have scared it!!!!
hang in girl!!! you are doing well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
**** at 13 months i had lost 83 # ...go figure--you are doing awesomely great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Cyrena...you are doing great. Don't compare yourself with others. I am sure you are losing inches if the pounds are not going as quickly as you would like. Everyone is totally different.
Sometime you need to bump up your protein intake .......change your menu around. This works for some. Be sure you are getting in your water and protein. No drinking during meals or after as your doctor recomends. That makes a big difference too.
Good luck....keep us posted on your journey.

hey when was the last time you lost 56 pounds in 6 months??? its wonderful that you lost this weight!!! i also was a slow loser!!! i still am not sure how i lost the 145 pounds that i did!!! seems i was always at a stall...grrrr but hang in there the weight will come off!!! have you taken your measurements lately?? bet you are losing inches...if you are weighing in more then once a week stop it!!! it only makes you depressed when you see the scale isn't moving!!!
hugs
Thanks again to all. I have taken my measurements and have lost over 42 inches overall. I do weigh daily. However, it's because I like to see those numbers compared to what these used to be!!! True, it is frustrating at times to not see the numbers lower but I get so excited when they are down. Gonna take my 6 month picture also. Thanks all.
