Good morning everyone!  I haven't gotten around to eating yet this morning but I'll be having a s/f Carnation Instant Breakfast here in a minute.  My big thing this week is I CAN'T SLEEP!!!  It's awful.  I go to bed tired and maybe sleep 15 minutes or 1/2 hour and then wake up and toss and turn and toss and turn and can't get comfortable.  I wake up about 4:30 a.m. and wait for the clock to hit 5:20 so I can get up and go to the gym.  I'm wondering if this is typical for WLS patients?  I had surgery 3 weeks ago tomorrow.

Laura,    I sure identify with you.  Lately I have been stressed..... who hasn't .... with the economy and a few personal issues.  Then,  not being able to sleep like I should has not helped either.  Sigh,  I need to have a project or two handy to work on in the middle of the night.... Preferably on that puts me to sleep... lol     Hang in there...  Millie

Linda,

Well, I decided to move Mom to the nursing home.  I liked it better than the other 2 nursing homes I'd looked at and the staff is wonderful.  The nurse at Mom's assisted living facility told me that if she ever had to put her parents in a nursing home, this is the place she'd choose.  The social worker at the home found Mom a new doctor who will visit her at the home, so I don't have to schleppe her in to his office once she's living there.  I do have to take her to see him this morning, then will move her into the nursing home tomorrow.  I'm still not thrilled about having to move her from a place she likes, but the nursing home is a heck of a lot better than the cut-rate assisted living facility.

B: 1 packet weight control oatmeal made w/ 2/3 c. skim milk, 1/2 banana, 1 tsp PB2
S: 6 oz yogurt
L: 4 oz crab alfredo broccoli crust pizza
S: 1 oz cheese
D: 2 oz steak, 2 oz lemon slaw
S: 4 oz SF pudding

( ( (   HUGGS  ) ) )  Jean,    I know this has been a difficult time for you.  It's not easy having to find the perfect place for our parents.  Mom and I share an apt and I know there will come a time when she will need to be moved to a new place.  I'm sure not looking forward to that time.

Rest knowing you made the best decision with the choices available.   We are here for you.  Millie

Millie,

Thanks so much for the kind words.  After talking to my mom about it today (she forgot the whole conversation within 3-4 min.), I still feel this is the best decision.

I just hope somebody will take care of me this way one day when I need it.  I don't know who that might be (I don't have kids).  But if I'm as insensible then as my mom is now, that may not matter so much.

Jean
