What we are eating and what's eating us.Tuesday!!
No change in my menu today.
MD appt went well. He was pleased, I am pleased. I haven't been able to stay at 126, but weighed in at 128.5 and he said I was at 97% and that he considered me at goal. So that was nice. He even said he wanted me back in 6 months even though I don't have insurance that covers my appt with him...he said not to worry about it...he wants to keep me to follow-up...thought that was pretty nice of him.
I am running late this am as I haven't picked out what to wear...always do that the night before and forgot last night so that will take some extra time....
Hope things are settling down a bit for you and yours...
Take care,
Cheryl

So, here's the latest in the never-ending story of my mom's assisted living. Yesterday morning I talked to a social worker at the hospital who knows of no group homes for the elderly in our area. When I told her the name of the cut-rate facility, she said, "Oh, no!" She has never heard one good thing about that place. So I made some more calls, and finally found a helpful woman at our local senior center who couldn't understand why Mom doesn't qualify for Medicaid and suggested that I talk to the social worker at our county nursing home. That social worker was wonderful. She called the Medicaid office herself - closed for Columbus Day - and then called a Medicaid case worker at home to verify that Mom does indeed qualify for Medicaid if she's getting care in a nursing home (but not if she's in an assisted living facility - there are different income requirements in that case). My mom's doctor doesn't visit patients at the county home but the social worker said she would help me find a few doctor and do anything else she could to help me, even if I don't end up chosing the county home. So I'm going to see the place this morning. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but just about anything would be better for Mom than the cut-rate assisted living facility.
B: 3 oz turkey breakfast sausage - I used to love sausage, but rarely eat it now because the texture can be a problem and it's so high in fat, but I was craving it and tried this locally made sausage that people rave about - aack! too salty! and I love salt.
S: 6 oz yogurt
L: 4 oz coriander chicken salad
S: 1 oz cheese
D: 4 oz crab alfredo broccoli crust pizza
S: 4 oz SF pudding

I hear you on the salt, I wonder if our taste buds become more refined, I have not found a bacon I like, in a long time.
I still enjoy a good Italian sausage, but I brown, let it fry,cut off the casing and mix it with tomatoes, green pepper, and onion..
