Good morning George and OFFers!

Didn't get a chance to check in yesterday.  We had a busy weekend as we usually do this time of year - fishing season!!!  Sat. up at 4:30 for our fishing trip.  Caught several large reds, a couple of trout, and a couple of drum.  No eels and no stingrays this week - YEAH!  We bought a hamper of crabs.  Back home at 1:30 just in time for Ethan's visit!  That boy is a bundle of energy.  He "helped" grandpa clean fish, carefully studying all the innards, fins, eyeballs, etc., "helped" grandpa clean and boil the crabs, and later made brownies with grandma.  We had a hard time settling him down for the night.  Finally just about 11:00 he conked out.  Up at 7:30 for breakfast and church.  Afterward as we promised him, we went for a walk on the levee to see the ships, tugboats and barges.  He loves throwing rocks in the river.  GIII and Danny (Ethan's dad) came over and we bbq'ed for lunch.  Later, we ate a few boiled crabs - delicious.  When everybody left, George and I sat outside on the deck and finished picking all the crabs.  Last night for dinner I baked some fish and made a sauce with crabmeat for a topping.  Leftovers for lunch today!  Thinking maybe crab and corn soup for dinner one night!

Better get back to work before I get caught!

Good Morning  er... almost afternoon everyone,

I am actually at home today. My little Sami girl is here with me, trying to keep her entertained and work on my desk a little bit.  Earl is switching my sewing/arts & crafts room to the bigger bedroom and making the smallest bedroom a playroom for the girls. With them in school they are here less and less or for shorter periods of time so it makes sense. Cheyanne is so busy with school, homework and friends now, but I know that happens as they become more and more independent. I made her promise to save  some time for Nana each week. she told me  " Nana, I'm always with you.....in your heart!"  awwww....... shows they do listen to us! LOL!!

I had such a great time in Frankenmuth, just the help I needed to get back on track. I loved meeting those I hadn;t met before and touching base with the ones I met on my last trip to Indiana & Michigan with Carla.  BTW Carla had to postpone her trip home, she is in Chicago until Friday taking care of stuff for her sister in law who is in the hospital. Say some prayers for Carla as she deals with all this stress.

My daughter's house is getting more and more back to normal so that relieves some of the stress. The other bedroom just needs carpet pulled up and to be repainted.  so the  end of the flood nightmare is coming soon.

Hugs to all and have a great day!  Paulette

Good morning everyone,
All is well here as I'm still getting all my ducks in a row.
George, our resident sports nut, I'm gonna miss the pumpkin patch this year.  Bet you had fun.
Marie, That H Pylori cure is awful stuff.  Great about the poetry though.
Annette, So happy your pain is improving and I feel your pain about the appliances.  I meet the repairman today for a leaky refrigerator so I don't come home to a flood.  Good on ya for attempting to educate the arrogant.
Margo, May be time to get them thinking about you again.  Call the job folks, thank them for the interview, let them know you're still very interested.  THINK POSITIVELY.
Kathy and Cheryl, Great news about the Dr appts.
Judy, Enjoy the fall color.  Hope your computer is awake and purring soon.
Vera, Don't worry.  With less food, more movement and maybe a fill that stubborn weight is bound to come off.  Keep on keeping on.
Eileen,  Hope you feel better today and hope that all goes well with the rehab doc.
Debbie, A good old Lu'siana crab boil sounds fantastic.  You make me homesick for the years I spent at Fort Polk as a kid.
Blessings and blissings on another glorious gift that this day is.

Oh I love a good trip to the Pumpkin patch. I would love to go again. So would grandkids, but as the great pumpking has not left a pile of money on my door step it will have to wait until next year. Working my fingers to the bone at work. Boss as been especially nice after her blow last week. Some things you just can't take back. She said today "you really don't have to move you know." Yea right! she has cleaned out the "closet' and all ready looked in the office cataloug for some things to make the shelf I will be working off of more like a desk. She says "subordinates shouldn't share an office with management " and then asks if I want to stay? I think not. Well it looks like I will be posting from the library for 2 years, if I work my budget right it will take me that l long to pay my credit card down and get a new computer. I am in a computer lab. Dear Lord there is a stench so bad someplace close right now that I can't even take a deep breath. I am so excited for my trip to Ohio, went to pack my rolling carry on last night and can't find it?? Hmm wonder if i loaned it to grandaughter.  Had an uncomfortable "Chuck" session on Sunday. sigh.. Don't think this "friend" thing will work. Don't want to talk about it and Iam sure you are tired of hearing about it, but i have really really been down, can't seem to stop crying. I so need to sit  at the feet of my light house. Blessings

George, you are really a wonder - 2 jobs and you seem to be out with your wife and family the rest of the time.  When do you ever sleep?  Wow.  I have one job and whine if I have to go anywhere after work.  I need to take some lessons from you.
Annette, I bet that that rude man was threatened by you.  He saw a smart, savvy woman who knew what she was talking about and it scared the hell out of him.  I think that he wanted to be the expert in front of his family and he wasn't.  Too bad for him  People like him get very offensive when they are not in control.
I have a busy but short week ahead of me.  Yesterday was Thanksgiving, so this is a 4 day week.  However, we are at mid-term where I teach, which means that I am inundated with marking.  I have around 160 students, so that's a whole lot of marking!
Hope everyone has a great week.

I guess I am old fashioned.  Or not.  I feel I married Mary, that is where I should be.  She tells me once in a while to go do something for myself, but I don't because I cherish the time I get to spend with her.

I get about 4 1/2 to 5 hours of sleep a day during the normal work week.  On my lesser work days I try to add an hour or two.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Hi everyone, well I feel like I am finally getting some energy
back. I was so tired when we got home Sunday night. It was all worth it to see all of the off group.
The trees up here are just beautiful. Our yard is all red & orange, I love it. Not too happy about what is next, that 4 letter word(snow).  I hope you all have a great day,
Nan

Hi George,

Thanks for the good words about my diabetes medicine being a thing of the past.

I was feeling a little sorry for myself, because I bought a new belt (size 2X) and thought it would fit, since I had lost 13 1/2 pounds.  I can get it on and fasten the first hole but it is still a little tight. I really thought I had lost more than that, as my pants are all getting loose at the waist.  Oh, well, maybe in another few weeks.
