IF IT'S TUESDAY, THIS MUST BE OFF - What's new with you?
Good morning all. Hope you had a good day.
Took my grandkids (son's kids) to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. They had a good time. Then we went to McDonald's for lunch. Who'da thunk a McRib could last a meal and a half?
Listened to the Rays - Red Sox at work. Watched my CBS comedies, while watching the XM Ticker of the Dodgers - Phils game.
Grammylew - Thank your son for his service to our fine country for me please.
Pat R. - Very honest of you with the overpay. God notices. Have you been on Armour Thyroid before? Just curious. I took it in 1968-69 for my problems.
Margo - Hope Chico is better.
Cheryl - How'd the checkup go?
Brenda - If you ever get to enjoy doing laundry, let me know and I will make you ecstatic. How did your doc appointment go?
Debbie G. - Happy Un-anniversary. LOL. My parents were divorced after 28 years of marraige. I still call my mother every year on their anniversary. Probably just because it ticks her off.
Judy - One thing I really miss living in Texas is snow. I love a good snowfall.
Kathi - Hope hubby's doc appointment went well.
Linda - Just keep counting down, it is getting so much closer. (By the way, I loved your joke)
Eileen - Check out my profile. Added a picture of Eddie playing ball.
Jeane - Congrats on the diabetes meds being a thing of the past.
Hope you all have a WONDERFUL TUESDAY!!!

Hi George,
Good morning to you too. I haven't done much posting lately. Been busy doing my bit for the election by phoning people. It's been an eye-opener this year.
I am in limbo land. I am still waiting for my jumping through hoops to be through. Lots of time left to deal with my stinking thinking. The can I do this is back. I know I will have the surgery but I am afraid that afterwards I'll regret it.
I just finished treatment for the bacteria that causes ulcers. The cure was worse that the ulcers. I have never been so sick on a medicine before. I hope that it killed the bacteria cause I don't want to go through that again.
I have been writing poetry again. I just got a letter that two of my poems are going to be published. I am hoping to some day have a whole book published with my poetry and short stories. Wishful thinking on my part.
Everybody HAVE A GREAT TUESDAY.
Love Nancy

Good morning all~
What a colorful start today. Thanks George.
Improving is my good news today. Pain is finally tolerable, energy level increasing, headed in the right direction.
All sorts of things are falling apart at once. Poor timing with me out of work this month. The microwave blew up on Saturday with loud bangs and flashes of flame. That shook me up. The stove is not working correctly, the fridge is making odd noises, the furnace has a fatal crack and the septic system decided to clog up. I have already said "oh ****", so you don't have to.
Last night I went to the support meeting - it was lap-band night. We had a couple from out of town attending with their daughter. She's a Cornell student who is considering lap-band. We all tell about ourselves and give an update. The man interrupted me and asked what a RNY person was doing at the LB meeting. He made it sound like a disease. Whoa - the group told him that I am their LEADER. They were rather harsh to him, but I felt very honored by the support from them.
He had the WLS method of stomach stapling many years ago. He told the group that his surgeon didn't bother with food restrictions but said to eat everything and see how it goes. Plus, exercise was a waste of time and energy. (In his case, that equaled weight gain) Ouch, the group let him know that is NOT how our surgeon directs us to success.
After the meeting they stopped me by my car. The man wanted to know why I chose RNY instead of LB and how could I lead both groups and be objective. He was rather rude.
I explained the reasons for my choice, the main two were not wanting a port and needing fills. I made sure the daughter knew this was the reason our surgeon makes us attend both support groups, to make our OWN informed decision.
As for leading both groups ... I completely believe in both surgeries and do not think "one size fits all", or that one surgery is best for all people. We all have the same problem of obesity. My job is to lead the groups, not recruit.
He was obviously not satisfied with the answers. He didn't like my reference to OBESITY. Grrr, he ruffled my feathers.
Interesting people I meet in these groups. Makes life more exciting.

Oh My Lord, Annette,
That man sounds like a not very nice guy, I feel sorry for the daughter. You did so well! I tend to get too defensive and screw up opportunities to educate. Sounds like you did all you could. Too bad that daughter can't attend these things without him....
Good job!
Cheryl

We never touch people so lightly we do not leave a trace.

How rude! Why can't people respect other people's decisions? What's right for one person isn't right for another. You gave a good explanation of your choice ... I like the fact your group supported you.
I can understand the "everything breaking down at once." Been there, done that ... refrigerator, chair, dryer ... just waiting for the next big expensive thing to break.
Glad you are feeling better. Hope the recovery continues.

Eileen,
Thanks. From the way he acted, I got the impression that he thinks he is always superior to women. He poo-pooed his wife for not being able to EAT EVERYTHING as he does.
When he talked to me outside he stood up super straight as if his height might intimidate me. Ha - Tom's 6'4" to my 5'2", I am never rattled by a tall person.
Breakdowns seem to happen all at once. There is never a conveniet time though. We will muddle through.

Hi Debbie,
He wasn't worth smacking.
Yes, I am feeling human again. Part of me wants to go back to work next week. Certainly a sign of feeling better. The other part is reminding me to rest, completely heal or end up on my back again.
It was disheartening to pay over $200.00 to have the tank pumped, then have then man tell me we have a clogged line between the septic system and the house. With not so great delicacy I said "more money and more ****". He didn't expect such naughty words from this little old lady(?).
The look on his face made me laugh. Shame on me.
