LBL almost a 'done deal'....need suggestions please....
Never had it done but want to send some strength and support. It seems logical that you will want to wear loose fitting clothes for a while. They will give you fancy pain meds which means no driving at first. At least have someone "on-call" to run errands.
Make the list of questions to ask you surgeon. Write down the answers so you don't forget. I always get rattled as they talk to me and can't rememeber once I am off their table.
Each day you will feel better. Your clothes will fit they way you want and you will be happier with the image in the mirror.
Janet, you always urge me to step out of the box. Your turn now. Make that commitment, sign your name on the dotted line, then take pictures and show us the wonderful results.![Fireworks](http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/8/8_14_7.gif)

Janet, see you've got me back in the Forum! and I had trouble figuring out how to reply to your posting. You are a very brave girl! I am more fearful of having plastics than I was of having the original surgery. But I am with the same old man for the last thirty some years, so am less conscious of my flabby skin. Although there are times when it does seem to be in the way.
Gosh, I love ya....Linda...and you are so missed around here..... please just keep checking in if you don't post all the time.... I'm not here as much as I used to be....so many of us aren't but the Dallas Sistahs have started something, methinks.... there was Pittsburgh and now Frankenmuth.... I made it to Pittsburgh..... we're going to 'do' Dallas again.... I promise...
Having the skin removed because it IS in the way.... it gets sores...it itches...I have rashes... it sweats...yada, yada. Wasn't my first choice but the most logical one. I'm hoping there will be a vanity benefit in there somewhere.
I'm not fearful..anymore.... I'm really pretty calm. It is what it is.
Hugs...
Janet

Janet:
No advice, just good wishes your way. If I had vacation time and money, I'd come down and help you out. But only two days of vacation left and you know about the money ... it's tight as always. Couldn't afford the airfare.
You are brave to have your plastics ... I was headed that way before I had the knee replacement, and now I don't want any more surgery. Thought the knee replacement was the smart thing to do ... ha! That'll show me! Maybe I should have gone with the plastics instead.
Sending you cyberhugs and all the love I have. You will do fine. The next time we see you, you will be an even skinnier Janet. Take good care of yourself.

Aloha Ladybug!!
Wow....you have having PS!! That is amazing, and exciting. You didn't give a date, but I hope you will so that we can cheer you on, and wait for news.
I'm scheduled for Dec. 3rd for panniculectomy.....so I'll be waiting eagerly to see how you do. I'm pretty sure this will be on the harder side from the original WLS because that was was just five little "pukas" in my belly....this one will be hipbone to hipbone. If they are going to tighten your belly muscles, that is what I've heard can cause some pain, but hey......get lots of good drugs, and you can float right through all of that part!
Here hoping everything goes great. Don't forget "before and after" pix!!
Aloha nui loa,
Maui Karen
Janet,
First did you open the mystery box and what did you take???
I had a tummy tuck in 02, there were about 6 others that went to this "qualified" plastic surgeon and all of us need to be redone,NOT touched up, I mean redone!!So be sure to talk to some of your surgeons patients. I have dog ears on both sides, a buldge where some inside stitches came lose, he didnt go far enough around....I could go on and on. I wore a compression suit for at least 3 months. I wore it much longer that I needed too. I was NEVER so excited to get rid of my drains. I know how a man feel with something between his legs
. As far as pain, I litterly had NO pain, peracet and demerol every 4 hours does the trick
, of course I dont remember anything either. The day I got my drains out I was still on pain meds, I made my husband stop at Dr. Johns and I picked up a little something, didnt try it on or anything...well, we had a meeting that night and I took my "garment" and showed the group....at the next meeting one of the guys said, "I think if we had ask Beth to try it on for us, she would have done it.."
Peracet and demerol are my durgs of choice
And you really should have someone at least check in on you because you should have someone do your drains. I'm sure your surgeon would want you to have someone....you may call me or email me, you have my email address dont you?? Good Luck, Beth![](http://images.obesityhelp.com/_shared/images/smiley/msn/sexy.gif)
p.s. they took about 10 off my tummy.

I had a panniculectomy a few years ago, before wls, and did not have a lot of problems or much pain. The drains are a pain in the you-know-what, but they come out in about 7-10 days. I think the biggest concern with surgery such as this is infection. As long as you have a good, reputable surgeon everything should be fine. I did not have anyone stay with me at home but you will need someone to go to the store and do other errands as you will not be able to drive for probably two weeks or so. Good luck to you Janet, and Karen as well. Be sure to let us know when you're going to have it.
