Hi George and Everyone,

It's Columbus Day and I have this Monday off work!  Hooray.  We're off to hubby's Pulmonary Doctor's appointment first thing this morning.  The winds are quite fierce here this morning.  Following the local news about the first of the fall fires burning here in Southern California.  Very far away from where we live but this time of year always seems to bring fires somewhere.  The wind will play havoc with my allergies and eyes but I must be out in it today.

Lost a pound finally!  Seems like it's been forever but I'll take it.

Seems like a great time was had by everyone in Frankenmuth. Everybody meeting everyone is a really great thing.  Hugs and prayers all around.

Great Monday everyone.

Do you know the difference between a Wall Street banker and a seagull?  A seagull can still make a deposit on a Ferrari.

Sounds like you all had a fairly busy weekend.   Mine was about fun, relaxation and housework.
Music and dancing Friday night.  Gil made food on Saturday and we watched movies.  He helped me pull the fridge out to replace the filter but that hasn't fixed the water leak that's pooling in front.  Guess I need a repairman, rats!  I wasn't sure what to do with a bunch of home grown tomatos so I just blended them and froze the juice.  Still not sure what to do with it but I have more time to think now.  I picked a peck of apples and started giving some away and I'm looking forward to fresh apple juice.

Sunday was all about neglected housework and laundry.  I will come home to a clean house after surgery and the spare room is tidy in case it's needed.

Hi George and my OFF family:

It's great to be back home and at my computer. I had so much fun in Frankenmuth, but happy to be out of the car and sleeping in my own bed (although grateful to Carla and Paulette for letting me have the bed by myself ... it helped a lot!) My legs were so swollen by the time I got home, I had to get them elevated and iced for the entire night and couldn't sit at the computer at all. So I'm sorry I didn't post last night. They feel better today... my feet were really hurting too ... my left heel and my right little toe where I had the bunionette removed. I forgot to bring the pads that the podiatrist gives me for free, and tried to substitute molefoam. Well, that didn't work at all, so it was a waste of money. Everytime I tried to walk, it hurt so much. The knee actually was O****il I took off the hinged brace, then it really hurt. So the brace seems to be working well. But as soon as I take it off, it hurts like hell ... like someone sticking a knife in it; and then it swells up from all the compression.

I had such a great time in Frankenmuth. Didn't spend a lot of money on stuff, so that was good, got a few things but not a lot. It was just fun to see everyone, get lots of hugs from old friends, meet new friends. Phyllis is supposed to come down and over from Frankenmuth today for her two-year checkup at MMPC, so we are going to get together for lunch/dinner sometime during the day. I have today off, too, but not for Columbus Day ... we only get the major holidays off. I just took a vacation day because I needed an extra day to veg.

The cats really missed me ... They swarmed over me once Carla and Paulette left (sorry ladies, sometimes they're a little shy). Then they left, but once I got into bed, Scooter and Nettie were there, snuggling with me this morning and purring up a storm. I missed them too. (Diva, too, although she didn't sleep with me ... she only sleeps in the bed with me in winter when she's cold.)

George, I love your Nolan Ryan story. It reminds of the time Robin Ventura got mad at Ryan for hitting him and decided to take him on ... Ryan got in more punches than Robin.

Well, I need to upload my photos. I'll post the link later. See ya.

The joke in this area was that Ryan had more hits than the Rangers that day.

Good Morning George and Everyone.......

I feel like I have missed so much. I was so busy this weekend there wasn't any computer time for me. I have missed you all.

Friday was a whirlwind.....went out dancing with friends Friday night.
Saturday I had errands to run and then met up with a group of friends to celebrate the 6th anniversary(new owners) of the opening of my favorite bar. They had a BBQ rib dinner....yummy ....and it was free!! More dancing...it was a long night!!
Sunday morning I went down to St. Paul to spend sometime doing beading with a group of ladies from the MN OH Board. It was so much fun but I didn't get home until 9:00PM. Did a few things at home and then went to bed!!

I have been busy with my job this morning...no paid holiday this time.

I have several errands to run later. This is another one of those crazy days!!

Sounds like everyone had a great time at the Ohio get together. Hope there will be pictures posted soon.

Need to get back to work.....I will check in and play catch up on posts later.

Special pryaers to those in need.

Love and hugs to all.......connie d

Hello all!

I had my first morning back at the church office today. It went well and quick.  I had computer trouble and spend quite a bit of time on the phone with technitians.  But it is working again and that is all that matters.

Went to the Surgeon for post op and am off the diabetes medicine and back on pureed food for 2 weeks.  I had misunderstood him.  Babyfood here I come.

He also said increase your exercise, so I walked 40 minutes instead of 20 thsi afternoon and it didn't hurt me a bit, other than make me sweat.

Hope you all are having a good day!
