MONDAY, MONDAY - What's new with you?

It's a wonderful day in the neighborhood.  How's everyone doing?

I was scheduled to be off for the night, but wanted to go to work for half the night.  Then I was going to get some sleep and take Eddie's family to the Pumpkin Patch in Lewisville.

Went to work, sat down at my desk before clocking in. Reached into my pocket and pulled out my eyeglass case.  It was empty.  And I had brought my spare pair home by accident a couple of weeks ago.  So, I just said good night and went home.

Have a baseball story.  At the banquet last night, Pete O'Brien was the guest speaker.  He used to play first base and left field for the Rangers.  He had several anecdotes to tell.  Very entertaining.

He told a story he heard from Nolan Ryan.  Nolan was an friend of Norm Cash's.  He used to play for the Tigers.  One day a Ranger wa**** by pitch in the bottom of an inning.  Norm was leading off against Nolan the next inning. He knew what was coming.  Norm told the catcher to go talk to Nolan.  Tell him I said I had nothing to do with it.  Hitting me will accomplish nothing.  I did not throw the ball that hit your teammate.  The catcher went out to the mound, spoke to Nolan and came back to take his position behind the plate.  As he walked past Norm, he said "Nolan said to tell you he is sorry."  And Norm wa**** by the next pitch.

Hope you have a great trip to the pumpkin patch!

Today my DH has his heart cath that was cancelled because they didn't like the looks of his labs.  So he laid off the Maxzide for 10 days, had the labs again, they were good, so the heart cath is a go.  This is all part of his journey to WLS.  We keep hitting bumps in the road!  They better let him get back on the Maxzide this afternoon, though.  His legs are terribly swollen and blisters will be breaking out soon.  Then we will be at the Wound Center again!

We are supposed to have record highs this week, 85 to 87.  Yippee, I can get some more yard work done.  Put down my fall fertillizer.  If there is low humidity, that is!

I think our son has almost completed everything on the honey-do list his wife had for him when he returned from Iraq.  Maybe next month he can get to our sonny-do list!  Mine isn't NEARLY as long!

Good morning all....
Had a great night's sleep in my very own bed last nite...

I work this morning 'cause our bank doesn't close for the Columbus Day holiday....oh well! I got home and my pay stub had come in the mail and they overpaid me....don't know what happened and will try to get it straightened out this morning.....it was nice to get $300 extra, but yikes now I have to pay it back.

I'm unpacked but have a basketful of laundry to do now.
Most everything is put away and I promised my kitty I wouldn't take anymore trips for a while! She was watching me very carefully this morning to see if I was getting the suitcase out again and when I didn't she was
sooo happy.

It was 83 degrees here in Sturgis when I got home, so I opened up the house to air out and it felt really nice.
Can you believe this???? gas is $2.75/gal here....OMG I thought $3.09 in Frankenmuth was terrific. I'm sure it's been well over a year since gas was below $3/gal.

Have blood drawn tomorrow morning to check my vit. D level and also see my PCP for a checkup.....I am going to
speak to him about trying me on Armour Thyroid for a while as I don't like the synthroid he's had me on for six months. I did lose 3/4 lb. while in Frankenmuth.....think it must have been all the walking....lol.

Better get around for breakfast and work now. Hope all who traveled to the GTG have arrived safely at home.
Love and prayers to everyone on this wonderful board.

Pat R.

PS
I will speak to one of the "techies" about getting my pics
on my profile from the weekend.

good morning!

i had an eye glasses episode yesterday- took mine off and set them down- couldn't find them later-opened the (small) bathroom drawer to get my tweezers and there they were!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have never ever put them there before! would not have been pretty trying to drive without them!

poor chico is still not happy/well...he is still crying but not that horrid death cry that was happening thursday and friday...he camped out in our room last nite and none of us got great sleep....he is just not well yet....michael has to fight with him to get the three meds down and last nite we tried humidifying him a bit...some lung sounds....anyhow- everyone at the gtg was so great with their prayers for him and he is better! (chico is michael's blue and gold macaw-12 yr old parrot -one of the three that we still have  that michael had rescued years ago-he is like a child to us)--really hard to deal with was the fact that our dog died last year while i was at the dallas gtg so michael was apprehensive from the start about me going away and chico is so special to him!when he called me friday morning at 630 am (while i was in frankenmuth) he sounded so lost and scared ......

ok- on to something more positive..i am positive that it is monday ......

i mentioned yesterday that i am going to sit at son's to wait for the gas man to turn the gas back on -they have a showing tomorrow and an open house on sunday so we have our fingers crossed that they can sell- they have reduced their price yet again-i really think that they have gone past the "giving it away point"

not sure yet what else my monday holds...some bill paying and a few important phone calls...i'll check back later to see how everyone is!
hugs and prayers.....

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Good morning

George, without my glasses I wouldn't have been able to read the speedometer and would have remembered to go back in the house. Blind as a bat without them.

I MET JOYCE and JOHN!!! How wonderful to get real live OFF hugs at last. She said to tell you "HI" and they are headed home. They were kind enough to come to our home so I didn't have to get dressed and go out. The furbrats were well behaved for once. Joyce took tons of pictures and shared Frankenmuth pictures with me. I am so happy to meet another OFF Sister!

Good morning, George and my other OFF family. I have so missed not posting the last couple of days. I feel like I am home now.

I am going into the church office to help out........but then again what else is new? Jeri is going to concentrate on Charge Conference paperwork and getting that stuff done. I have some paperwork for it too and my job is to answer phones and do my paperwork and talk to the new pastor about someone who is driving me nuts! Poor Carla and Paulette heard it last night when I met them for coffee.

I have laundry up that wazoo that needs to be done too. So I guess today is the day for that too. Oh how lovely.........laundry is my favorite thing to do, just as I am sure it is for everyone. Maybe if I say it enough it will come true.....do ya think?

I seem to be feeling a lot better than I was earlier this week end. I just think it is from the cardiomyopathy and sometimes my heart just tells me to stop and rest and if I don't it throws a fit. That is the time that I do listen then. When the heart throws a fit you have a tendency to listen then. ha ha

Tomorrow is a busy day. I have to spend the morning at the doctor with Bill and then in the afternoon I get to do the same with Carol. But........the one good thing about taking Carol to the obstetrician is that they very well might give her the first sonogram and this Tutu gets to see it first! I am sooooo excited about that one. A first picture of my grandbaby. How great is that one? It will be a red letter day for me there! I will keep you posted on the happening of Baby Whoozit. Of course I will........I am a doting Tutu now and you all understand what goes with that. Then tomorrow evening is a meeting at the church. I have devotions and so I have to do something for that.

I guess I had better get going. I am hungry and my Harpo wants food and letting me know it too. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are going up for everyone. Special ones for those in need of them. Have a wonderful and blessed day and keep a smile on your face and a song in your heart.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Good Morning George and everyone on OFF!
I know I haven't posted much lately, just not much to say.  Been pretty busy too, but not a lot to show for it!
I took my dogs for a walk at the park last evening and wore them out!  I could have still walked more, but they (especially chunky monkey sweet Daphne) were tired!  Her legs are shorter than Angus's and she is chunky, so she was pretty worn out by the time we were half way done!
Did a lot of Planned Pethood stuff this weekend, we are busy making a new web site and working on that, plus did the craft table at the AppleButter Festival in Grand Rapids (OHIO) yesterday.  It was a nice day, got to play with some of the puppies and talk with other volunteers.
Still have mucho work to do on the various projects around the house, but ya know, they will always be there won't they?  LOL!
the weather has been pretty nice around here this past week and looks to continue for this week too,  I am trying to transplant flowers and bushes now so maybe I can get more done tonight.
That's my tale of nothingness!  Yesterday would have been our 35th wedding anniversary if we were still married.  Like I said, we got out dissolution 5 days before our 31st anniversary.  such is life eh?  I often think it was the best thing that could have ever happened to me.  Oh yeah, it was one of the worst too, but sometimes those worst things are actually good things.  Odd isn't it?

My recap today was not so good, but that is because I did it from home.  When I do it at work, I have a pad of paper I can jot notes on.  Oh well.  I will do better.  Thanks
