2 months post op losing slower than any post I have seen
I am now 10 weeks post op I loss 15 pds the first two week check up, then 6 more at the 4 week appt with the Nut. Since then I have lost 6 more pds, that is 1 pd a week. At my four week Nut appt I was told to go to the next stage 4 foods. I keep track of everything I eat on My plate.com, they want me to get 800-1000 calories a day. I usually get 800-850, drink my water take my vitamins, ( except for the extra calcium since my diabetic blood test show too high calcium levels, and may be lookig at surgery on my parathyroid ) I exercise every day.
My highest weight was 289, surgery I was 217 and now 189. I lost the 70 pounds before surgery over a couple of years dieting under a doctors supervison. But finally got where I was not losing any more and the Diabeties was getting worst and worst.
My diabeties is much better, A1C count last week was 5.
Has anyone out there lost this slowly.

You will read the same advice over and over again:
#1 - don't compare yourself to others
#2- you have to EAT (the correct foods) to lose
We seem to have the idea that the weight is going to slide right off after WLS. That just doesn't seem to happen for most people. It is a constant battle, every ounce of the way. Not on a pretty curve either but a series of steps.
Try taking your measurements on a monthly basis. Months that the scale went slowly, my tape measure showed progress. Often just a wee tiny bit, but still progress.
My biggest weight drop was the month I began eating more regular foods and increased the protein. At no time did I have what could be considered a BIG drop, it was always slow. AND frustrating.
At about 200 pounds, the scale got stuck. I felt ready to shave my head to see if that migt help move it a couple of ounces. By weighing and measuring the food, increasing activity, and sticking to the plan exactly, the scale began to move again. At a snail's pace, but it moved.
27 pounds in 10 weeks sounds very good!!! Don't get discouraged.

Here is the advise my Nut told me ... when I complained that I was losing too slow.
1) on average we lose about 8-10 over the first year.
2) my calorie range should be 750 to 1000 calories a day with average 850... now I am 5'10".. but I am not sure she took that into account.
About 2 weeks ago I started eating on most days 850 cal (I was only eating 700 to 750 cal) and 75 to 90 grams of protein every day... and after losing nothing for 2 weeks... I started losing again.
I hope this helps... I am trying not to compare myself with others too... but its hard... I am SO impatient!!
