Help
Hey,
I went into the hospital Thursday for breathing problems and got out Saturday and am still feeling like crap. My pouch hurts and I am having problems going to the bathroom. I'm now wondering if my breathing problems were not associated with something in my gastro tract. Has anyone had an obstruction and if so, what are the symptoms. I am really feeling sick here.
Don't wait, call your surgeon Jeannie! NOW.
The nurse in you knows that! Bowel Obstruction would be vomiting, pain, and distention. Call now. distention of course could make you a tad short of breath.
Obstruction in pouch would be fullness, pain and that would be about what I know.
But call

My doctor is about eight hours away but I am going tomorrow to see my son's wls surgeon and hopefully he will get me fixed. I sent him an email and got an answer so he will see me. If I have to, he will meet me in the ER, so that will be good. I am miserable and am barely able to drink water. I think this has been coming on for a long time. Thanks for the quick reply.
Jeannie,
I had a bowel constriction - not quite the same as obstruction. The pouch always felt full and I felt as if I was bloated. Not really constipated but not the usual either. Scar tissue, internal hernias, and adhesions were causing the pain. It hurt to take a breath.
Nothing showed on any X-ray or MRI. The surgeon suspected those problems and was able to look/repair laproscopically.
That wasn't much help.
Call your surgeon. They need to find the source of the pain.
