Heel pain....

I HAVE SPURS ON BOTH HEELS.  I DID GET SHOTS IN BOTH OF THEM SEVERAL TIMES WHICH HELPED A GREAT DEAL!  NOW I ONLY WEAR TENNIS SHOES THAT HAS "SPRINGS" IN THE HEELS.  IT IS MUCH MORE COMFORTABLE FOR ME.  YES, WHEN THE SHOES START GOING "FLAT" THEN I START HURTING AGAIN SO IT IS TIME FOR NEW SHOES AGAIN.  I KNOW IT SOUNDS SILLY BUT, IT IS TRUE.

My heel pain went away when i started to wear New Balence 526 and any Dansko shoes. I was in boot for a few weeks, then changed to the NB and Dansko shoes and I have never had a problem with my feet since.

I hope you can find out something will work for you.

Helen

I just had a bone cyst removed from my heel. It showed up on the xrays after I complained about foot pain.My heel is better but they put the walking boot on me wrong and caused me to use the ball of my foot too much and I now have a pinched nerve. I have already had shots twice to try and fix it. You fix one thing and break another. I would get it checked out. The cyst in my heel would have eventually caused my heel to fracture if I had done nothing. Better safe than sorry. I wear Easy Spirit shoes and my podiatrist said they were a choice. I will keep wearing them even after I get skinny.

I also had planters facitis a couple of years ago and I was told by my doctor to buy a good pair of lace up shoes with good support. I was also told to never go anywhere without the shoes on ....even the bathroom. I also was told that after I put my shoes on after getting out of bed in the morning to do exercises by pushing against the wall while leaning against it from a distance...one foot toward the wall at a time. This worked for me. This situation takes a while to resolve so be patient and lay off from a lot of exercise except the stretching against the wall and sitting down type. Good luck.

I have the same issues...and used to be a birki girl too.. I wore orthotics in lace up shoes for a while...which I mostly hate!    I am on my feet all day every day so things can get tough sometimes... What I have found the happiest situation between having some air around my feet and some level of pain relief is to use a variety of well fitting shoes in a few different styles and heel heights, arches and such.   Teva sandals are great, as are dansko or llbean clogs and new balance hiking shoes...

I think in my case the pain was compoinded through the week..Once I started varying my shoes my heel pain was much improved..  My feet still hurt, but that single area seems to get a level of relief I can live with now.

The heel pain can also be helped with deep hard rubbing and flexing...and arch massages ...digging in really...hope this may help...and you certainly have my sympathy.

I too have had tons of feet problems, but my Dr. told me to stretch, stretch and stretch my feet.  I stand facing the wall and put my toes up against the wall and lean into the wall and also now that I can lift my leg high enough I will put it on the counter and bend my toes towards me and I will lean towards my toes....   and it has made a remarkable difference in my feet........  I can now run and walk all day as long as I stretch and stretch.  I even stretch as a habit even if I'm not exercising..

I had horrible heel pain.  It was the worst in the morning when I got up.  I couldn't walk.  Long story short.....I quit wearing my backless Clarkes all the time and it went away.   I know 2 more people who experienced the same thing.    We all said the same thing at first......"It can't be the shoes.  These are the most comfortable I've ever had....".  But it was the shoes.  Now I wear backless shoes only occasionally and I haven't had a problem since.
