My two year surgiversary
It's hard for me to believe, but it has been two years since my surgery. My surgeon and I agreed that 168 would be a good goal for me, but I now weigh somewhere between 148 and 155. (I'm 5'9). My BMI is normal, and I am happy and healthy.
Maintaining has not been a burden. I can eat anything I want, but in smaller portions. I've been lucky in that I can tolerate all foods - there isn't anything that I have to avoid.
This surgery has been a blessing. Many thanks to you, my on-line family, for your support. The journey was easier because of you!

Congratulations on TWO successful years Evelyn! You're doing fabulous, and I (at just over two years out) just can't believe how time flies once we get our healthy wings via WLS and finally get to live our lives for 'real!' All the best to you! Hugs, Patti

Congratulations on your 2 year Surgiversary! I hope one day to be able to say my BMI is normal, but no matter what I agree with you this surgery has been a blessing as well as meeting all the wonderful people on here, my OFF Family rocks!
Hugs and good wishes for your continued healthy life!

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

Aloha my sister in WLS.......I posted in another place to you, but just had to jump in here too with my congratulations! We are so similar in our experience that I think others will see how it can be and it gives many hope. I know I would cling to stories of women who weighed as much as I did (319) before I had surgery who told stories is losing 100, 150 and more lbs. I never thought it could happen to me, but, like you, it has!
I am 5'10.5" and I go back and forth between 152 and 157, and most days am at 155, but I have to work to keep it there. If I forget to eat frequently......which is so easy to do....I lose the next day. I don't want to lose any more, and I'm having a tummy tuck on Dec. 3rd, so I'm guessing that I will lose a few lbs. from that which will put me in the 140's which is really way too low for my bones...Ha!
Thanks for sharing your story. I hope you keep coming back and sharing. I look forward to skipping along hand in hand with you through "maintenance land."
