What's New Thursday?

Hi my OFF family!

One more day til Frankenmuth! Unfortunately, I have to do a review tonight ... but then I have a whole four-day weekend. Can't wait to see all my friends again.

I went online to see if my payroll deposit was in ... it's not. Have to get up earlier to check again before I leave for my appointment with my therapist.

Carla called yesterday when she landed in Chicago as she was headed to the car rental place. I have a lot to do before she arrives ... have to make apple muffins yet, have to get my oil changed (on Friday morning, before Nancy gets here) ... I didn't have to schedule it for Friday, and I may change it to Monday yet.
Well, not much else right now. Should go to bed because I have to get up early. Margo and Pat, drive carefully ... hold down the fort til we get there Friday.

Frankenmuth, here we come!

Top of the morning to you, Eileen, and all my other OFF family. I am hoping that today is a great one for all of us.

I got the meeting at church done and over with so that is the last one until next Tuesday night and am I one glad lady about that. I even stayed for an extra hour to listen to the choir practice. That seemed to relax me and I know that I needed that. I talked a bit to the new pastor and he mentioned tomorrow which was today. I said something about it being Friday and he looked at me and said it was going to be Thursday. Boy I guess I was jumping the gun on the week.

I am so looking forward to Michigan. I wish that I could stay the whole week end but there are just things beyond my control and so I am just happy about 1 night. I just can't hardly wait to meet all my other sisters and brothers. I am not a shopper but I do so love to window shop. I am ready for that too. I am working on figuring out when I have to leave to be back into familiar territory before dark. I am thinking that if I leave around 2:30 or 3 I should be back in the area by dark. So that is my goal. I have to be back in familiar territory since I have a hard time seeing in the dark. So even if that puts me into Michigan City I should be alright. I am not to sure about Michigan City but I should know where I am. It is always good to know where you are at when traveling. ha ha I am getting my camera batteries all charged up and ready to go. So make sure you all watch out since I will be a woman on a mission. The mission being getting a ton of pictures. Of course I am still not sure just what to do with them once they get taken and are in the camera. I am such a sad specimen of a electronic person. I am hoping that someone can get a picture of me and help me by updating my avatar. I guess that should be updated even though I think I haven't changed.

I am going into the church office this morning to help Jeri out for the morning. I am going to get Bill's lunch packed this morning and get it done. After the church I am meeting my sister for lunch. I am not sure how that was planned but she mentioned it the other day when we were talking. So since I am complaining that she doesn't want to do anything with me as sister's I guess I should say thank you very much and have sister time with her. She is 7 and a half years older than I am and seems to be turning into a hermit. So I am glad to get her out while she wants to.

I guess I should get moving and get dishes in the dishwasher and lunch packed and Misty fed and watered. I wish that I was in bed sleeping but I woke up about 45 minutes ago and it seems the insomnia is back. I hate it when it rears it's ugly head.  And it's head is here for all the world to see. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are going up for everyone and special ones for those in need of them. Have a wonderful and blessed day and I will meet you here later on for the evening chat!

Good Morning,

I need to finish getting packed tommorrow is coming tooo soon. I can't wait to meet everyone in Frankenmuth, I did a mapquest and its only 2 hours from my house.  It will be in the 70's this weekend so I guess that will determine what I pack.

Today, I have to get my hair cut, stop at the office, check on and visit my mom, then come home and finish packing.  Whew...

Have a great day everyone.

What fun to be in Frankenmuth! Take lots of pictures and give us all the details.

My car is still sitting in the driveway, untouched, with an expired inspection.  Rich, my mechanic, told me not to worry, I shouldn't be driving yet. Darn it - I told him I have a doctor appointment tomorrow and did he expect me to walk to the damned office? He just laughed and said he plans to drive me there. double  !!!

I don't like to be grounded. Not that I have any plans to go out gadding about, but I am too old to be grounded.!!!

MEN!!!! I just KNOW he and Tom have planned this. Help, they have made me a hostage. Annette

Good morning all.  Just dropping by before I go back to bed.

Sorry I did not drop in yesterday, but it was a busy day and then when I came home, I did other things.

Mary and I went to the Fair yesterday.   Nine hours of walking.  Got some exercise in.

The thing that made me proudest is my results of my health screen that was done at the Fair.

Have not taken blood pressure medicine in 2 months.  BP was 113/64.  Pulse 62.  Body fat was 19.5% - Acceptable levels!!!!  BMI is 25.1.  24.9 is normal.  WOw!!!

Now, here is my report.  First, they deep fry anything out there.  A partial list: alligator, oreos, snickers, s'mores, Jelly Bellies, grilled cheese, cheesecake, ice cream, and bacon (breaded). And that is just off the top of my head.

Spent too much money.  Of course.  But we had a fun day together.

The first thing we bought was matching TShirts with greyhounds on them.  Trying to remember everything we bought.  I got a belt.  Mary got me a money clip and a bookmark.  She got 4 other bookmarks and a keychain.  $20 in food coupons.   A little here, a little more there.

We went to the Texas Lottery show.  Mary won 15 scratchoffs there.  Of the 15, 8 were winners.  She got $15 and 4 Texas Two Step tickets.

Then, the big purchase, we bought some pots and pans.  I know they are in the Fair to make a sale.  I know also you can bargain down if you stay a while.  His starting price was $399 plus tax for seven pieces, but for the Fair he was going to $299.  We got him to throw in 3 more pieces for $289 and then paid cash for another piece at $35 (he was originally asking $69 for that piece).  And he did not charge tax on any of it, made it all tax included.

Bottom line, we had a good time.  And that is what is was all about.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

George, last year at the Texas State Fair, I bought a Big Tex bobblehead and a pin (I collect both things). Leave it to me to find a bobblehead to bring home! Like I don't have enough of them! (I must have 150 or more ... my psychologist tells me I should get rid of some of them.)

My niece-in-law (is that a word?), who's from Dallas, and my nephew were in Dallas last weekend and went to the fair, and she sent me photos of all the deep-fried stuff they saw, plus told me what she tried. And she's pretty much a health nut, so it's kinda surprising she ate any of it. The only thing fried I had last year was a corndog.
