Grateful Post

I spend most of my OH time on the lap-band forum and OFF, because that's where I'm most likely find folks who understand what I'm going through.  But I try to check the main WLS forum once a day, because I often find newbies floundering there who might not know about the other forums.  And I also encounter some terrible misinformation about the band, which I (stupidly) want to counteract.

For 2 days in a row now, I have been trashed big time on the main WLS forum.  Maybe I deserved it for sticking my skinny little neck out, but y'all, there are some really vicious people there who need to get a life, or get therapy, or spiritual counseling, or something.  I was so disgusted, I took a 12-hour OH break (that's a long time for me, considering how addicted to OH I am).

But I'm back here now to tell you how grateful I am to you for your unconditional caring and support.  OFF really is the best-kept secret on OH.

.... and usually end up shaking my head in wonder and biting my tongue and running back here as quick as I can

You'd be missed very much if you were to "go away."  Don't go away.  I always look forward to you sharing with us.

I'm sometimes "missing in action" as I get busy with life but I read OFF alot.

Don't let 'em get to you.  OFF is the best place to be.

I am glad there are other people addicted to OH forums besides me!

I have been on the main WLS forum and also tried the chat room but felt very out of place and judged.

jean...oh gosh....i am sorry that you got trashed out there in the world of misguided peeps...i do go out there smedays- i look for certain folks and will once in a great while answer some post if it peaks my curiosity or if i really really have something to say --not often!!!!!!!!!!!!
 i also check out the march 2004 board-my surgery month- and live here on OFfF...

there are days....and sometimes i need to step back away from the keyboard...

I can't imagine anyone taking offense to your posts.  I find that you have been extremely helpful to me and I look for your posts because I know there are words of wisdom there. 

Please don't take time off from us... I am addicted to OH, too, but don't always have the time I need between work and sleep to get the chance to read everything I want - much less post.

Just stay away from *them*... LOL

JEAN, I wonder how we haven't crossed paths before??? I have been involved with OH for 6+ years. I use to go to the Calif board all the time. I have been to several OH functions, the Hollywood, Oct of 04, my first one.We had a costume party and the "garb" was unreal! I roomed with 4 other gals from Ca so we became friends and Darlene is my best-est girl friend...she knows so much. I think I have been to 3 others in Ca.one of them I took part in the style show, that was fun. Two wls conferences in Scottsbluff, NE going to Lincoln, Ne the 17th for a wls reunion. This is the second one Lincoln has had. I didn't go last year because I had shoulder surgery.oops almost forgot the OH one in Colorado.
Dint get all upset about the trashing because that's just how some people are that's why I like it here....people can get ugly. For us banders there is no other way and sometimes when someone bad mouths the band I wonder if they are just sorry about their choice. My band is the small on, holds 5 cc's and I have just a smidge over 1 in. Everyone has their opinions and to each his own is how I feel....later and stay here with us..Beth

The main board can be like a bunch of Junior High kids and not much fun. Shame on them for making you feel sad.

I am glad you came back "home" where you can feel safe.
