Thanks for the lovely words. I will keep them close to my heart and use them when the times get hard. There are so many inspirations on the board for me. And you newbies are among them. It is the newbies that keep me remembering where I was a year ago.

Donna, I have never thought of myself as a true success. I am always comparing myself to others. I have always thought that others are doing so much better than I am. I am eternally thankful to God for pointing me in the direction of this surgery. I do know that I have done the best that I can, and by saying that I also need to say that there are slip ups since I am human. But I guess the important thing is that I just pick myself up and get back on the saddle of life and keep on going.

Happy, Happy Surgiversary to you, Brenda,

It's wonderful to see what success is like!  I hope I can be half as successful as you have been.   I can't imagine that you felt like less than the person I've come to know here on OFF.

Enjoy your accomplishments -- not just the surgery but everything you are doing with your life these days.  The very best is always yet to come.  Special hugs for you today!

Congratulations,

Kathi

Kathi, I never thought of myself as someone different from what I am today but now since I know how it is now I see the difference in me. It is amazing how you think of yourself before surgery as being sure of yourself and such but when it really happens you know that you were a strong person out of self preservation. I had to come across as a strong person to hide the person that I really was. Someone not sure of themselves and who would do anything to make a person like me. Heck, I use to check out groups to join just so I would think that someone would come to my funeral if I died. How sad is that one?

You are a success too, Kathi. I know that at times you aren't thinking that you are but truly you are. Keep positive and remember that slow growth is good growth. In this case slow shrinkage is good shrinkage! You are the one that we look up to for someone who stuck with it when things got in her way. You were so sure of the road that you were traveling and it showed in what you did and what you said. I look up to you as a true success story.

Sending you lots of love and hugs, dear one.

Marcia, you are early on your trip and I wish for you every wonderful and good thing that can come to you. It is a trip of your life that is for sure. It isn't always smooth sailing but the bumps in this road aren't to bad in retrospect. I would rather have some bumps since it makes you stop and re-evaluate where you are going and how is the best way to get to your destination.

Brenda,
Sorry my congrats are so late, seems like lately I am falling so behind on things with all that is going on in my household right now.

If you think your first year was good, just wait and see what happens in your second year....hang on.....it gets bumpy and windy.....

Again Congrats!!!
