Today is the day........

Today is here and it is my 1 year anniversary. I can't believe that it has a year already. I am not sure where that time has flown to. It has been the happiest year of my whole entire life and I am so grateful for it. I am grateful for the chance to live life like I am suppose to.

I no longer feel like a second class citizen. I know that I am just as important as everyone else and I have valuable things to add to this world. My self assurance has gone up so much that sometimes I wonder if it is really me doing this.

I can shop in the misses department now. I just still can't believe that one. I am so use to shopping in the woman's department that most times I automatically go to that department. When I find some clothes in Goodwill or the resale shops I find them in the larger sizes and then I think to myself where were these clothes when I needed them? No one had any to find when they were needed. Isn't that the way it goes?

I am just so happy and all of my OFF brothers and sisters have helped me so much in my walk. I am so thankful that I found this forum and all of you wonderful guys. You have helped me to be strong when I didn't think I could and you have shown me unconditional love and acceptance through this year. I look forward to sharing so many more healthy and great years with all of you.

Most of all I am so grateful to God for pointing in the direction of the wls. I often said that I wished that I had had the surgery sooner but I realize that we all come to this when the time is right for us. God placed in my heart what was time to do. It is up to me to the footwork and fulfill the desires of Him when he points me in the direction. I am glad that I was pointed the directions of the surgery and all of you who are my extended family. You are the family that I chose and not the ones that are related through blood. It doesn't take blood to make people related to you. Family are from the heart strings and that is it. My heart strings are all tied to you. Thanks for helping me along the way. I am so blessed.

Brenda,

Congratulations and Happy Surgiversary!

You've done a marvelous job with the tool that you were given and I can relate to everything you said.  Thank God for the incredible gift that is WLS and for the angels he has put into our lives, via the surgeons, their staffs and the people we have been blessed to meet here!

Hugs and good wishes for the life your are living successfully each day!  Laureen

Laureen, I just knew that you would understand what I was working so hard to convey. Sometimes it is hard to get thoughts and the heart feelings put into words.

Thanks so much for just being you and all that you bring to us. I can tell that you love life so much too just from the things that you say and do. God has blessed us so much. I am so grateful for that.

I am sending love and hugs to you, sweetie.

Sandy, such wonderful things are a head of you. Just grab on and hold on tight and love each and every wonderful and exciting moment that you live. To soon it is gone and you have to enjoy it all. I have so loved my new life and look forward to each moment that comes~whether they are good or bad. Now I can feel the feelings instead of stuffing them down with food. Now I eat to live and not live to eat. I am so grateful and so humbled that God has allowed me this second chance at life.

You will do great. Just keep hanging in there.

Connie, I do have to say that you are one that I look up to on this journey that we share. You are so outgoing and enjoying everything that is put in front of you. Sure there are down days but we get through them and know that soon they will be part of the past.

I will be working on the new avatar but I need help with that. Maybe this week end I will get a picture taken and it will be put on. Then that way I can look at it and never forget my wonderful week end (or should I say day) with my wonderful OFF family. Without all of the OFF family I wouldn't be where I am today~a happy and self assured woman. I like the sound of that!!!!!!!!
