Good hump day to you Linda!

I worked in finance for about 7 yrs, so I hear where you are coming from.  I got out  around 2004 tho, so I am missing all this economic woe from the bird's eye view.  Just facing it on a more personal level when the oil delivery guy comes to my house.

Yesterday, I forgot to pick up my son's hemmed Bar Mitzvah clothes, so I have to do that today, after I get back from the gym.  I am also meeting an old friend for coffee around 2:30.  That should be nice.   Saw my nutritionist yesterday, which was great!  She is always full of great suggestions and advice.  Anyway, we agreed that I should be getting in touch with my PCP today to discuss my blood sugar #'s, as they are not where I want them to be.  My surgeon took me off my diabetes meds while I was on the liquid diet and and post op, but my sugar is high and I wanted to get back on my Glipizide, but my PCP put me back on the Metformin, which is not bringing my numbers back down.  After speaking with my Nut yesterday, she told me that the Glipizide works in the pancreas, where the Metformin works in the liver, and obviously (cos I have been keeping trac of my sugars) the need in my body is to get hold of the insulin resistance in my pancreas...so I will be calling the doc today and hope to actually talk to him, instead of having to leave a msg with the woman who answers the phone, for her to relay this and that back and forth.  I can't stand that!

B- cream of wheat

s - yogurt

L - tuna

s - sugar free hot cocoa made with milk

D - chicken breast w sweet potato and veggie of some kind

Hope you have a wonderful autmn day!

Good morning dear Linda,

I hope you were able to be both loving and assertive yesterday and I pray
that the situation resolves itself for the highest good of all concerned.

Thanks for reminding me of Janis Joplin this morning, a local girl dear to my heart.
Chris Kristofferson had it right when he wrote Bobby McGee:
"feeling good was easy, Lord, when Bobby sang the blues
and feeling good was good enough for me."

Good morning to you dear. I can't imagine working with finances. I deal with it here and it is enough to drive me nuts since there is never enough money around here. ha ha

It is a rainy day but it going to be a good day since Bobby is singing the blues. I love that song. Now it is going to be going through my head all day I am sure. Oh well, it could be something much less nice. There has been days like that as well.

I went grocery shopping yesterday and so there is now some different stuff to eat around here. That is not a good thing but a great thing. I get so tired of eating the same old stuff. I have to go to Wal Mart so I can get some of my sf maple and brown sugar oatmeal. I keep forgetting that.

B: scrambled egg
L: turkey and cheese
D: chicken with mild chipoltle sauce and veggies
S: not sure

Bill is liking the fact that I am not doing any pasta or rice anymore. He said that it doesn't bother him at all since he needs to lose weight too. I know that when I fix it I want to eat it and usually end up doing just that. We concentrate of the protein and veggies now and it seems to be working good.

I better get to going. I have some things around here to do and then a meeting at church tonight. It is finance and I have to bring a raise to them for the Ad Min. They may not like it but I think they will go for it. Then we get to set the budget for the next year. Our new pastor is coming and that is nice. He is a wonderful man and I have heard nothing negative yet. Today is day 3 for him at the church and so that is a wonderful.

Keep on truckin' and know that special prayers are going up for you and yours. I am sending love and big hugs to you dear one. Have a wonderful day and keep in mind that it is hump day!!! YEA!!!!!

Linda,

I signed the paperwork yesterday to move my mom into a cheaper assisted living facility at the end of this month.  I don't think she's going to like it there - partly because she will have to share a room with another lady - but I've run out of options.

B:  1 packet weight control oatmeal made w/ 2/3 c. skim milk, 1/2 banana, and 1 tsp PB2
S:  6 oz yogurt
L:  3 oz tofu w/ peanut sauce, 2 oz Thai zucchini
S:  1 oz Muenster cheese
D:  2 oz steak, 2 oz cabbage w/ bacon
S:  4 oz SF pudding
