Well I feel really proud of myself this morning.  My daughter and I got up at 5:30 a.m. and went to the gym.  I did 1/2 hour on the treadmill, came home and was to work by 7:30 a.m.  YEAH!
We're hoping to keep it up... we want to help each other stay motivated.

Good morning to all my OFF family. Brothers and sisters this morning. It is so nice to see more of our brothers posting today. It is nice when we have a blended family conversation.

I have to do some things around here today. I got most of the grocery shopping done yesterday so that is great. I just have to get a few things from another store and then it is done for a while. I hate to do grocery shopping with the prices now a days. I use to love to do it but now I just dread the check out times. Yesterday it was about $75. I got 4 bags and that is it. It use to be that I could feed us for a couple of weeks on that but not now. I spent that at Aldi's and not the regular store either. But then again, anymore Aldi's isn't much cheaper than some of the regular stores. That is a sad thing. I just worry so about those with children. How ever do they do it?

I have a meeting at church tonight at 6 and then it seems like meetings may be calming down. I have the regular Ad Council meeting next Tuesday but that is always the 2nd Tuesday of the month. I have devotions for that meeting so I guess I should be looking into that. I will tell ya all, I am about meetinged out and I think I will blow if they don't calm down. I am beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

It is rainy today and was yesterday too. It was really fun coming out of the grocery store with the groceries. I went in and it wasn't raining and came out and it was pouring buckets. All the way home it did that and then I had to carry them in with the buckets coming. It just keeps raining and after the flooding that we had a few weeks ago more rain is not what some of these people need right now. They are still struggling with the water damage. My heart goes out to all of the people affected by this weather.

I should go and get my year blood work done tomorrow. I go see the nurse and the doctor next week. They take some time to get the results to all of the doctors. I am going to have them send copies to my pcp and to the heart doctor too. I am going to ask if they will send copies to me or if I have to get them from the doctor. Either way is alright with me. Darlene sent me a form to keep track of them. I am going to start doing that. I have wondered and never did anything about that. I was lacking. I am usually so adamant about that stuff too. Where has my brain been?

I guess I had better get to movin'. I got things to do and time is not standing still. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are going up for everyone. Special ones go up for those in need of them. I am praying that everyone has a wonderful and blessed day today.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Good morning all!

Many prayers for those with job changes and those with health concerns!

Yesterday was my best day yet since my banding on 9/29.  Had the most energy I have had.

I am trying food now, banana yesterday, cantalope this morning (both did fine) and I am making my turkey chili for supper.  Now that will be a test!  But at only 1/2 cup with the help of small bites and chew chew chew it should be OK.  Husband is glad I am finally cooking something!

My daughter is coming by today to visit and I am going to get her to help me get the living room in order as my DS is coming by tomorrow morning for a visit.  Needs vacuuming and dusting.

I hope everyone's day goes just they way they want it and I am very thankful you let me be part of the crowd.

I sure wish I could go to the OH event, and I will some day!!!!

Good morning Vera and OFFers!

Not much new or exciting around here.  I did get confirmation that the organizers of the London trip received my second payment along with a few more instructions.  Need to call my sister and niece to see if they received theirs and to coordinate our flight to Atlanta.  We leave Atlanta @ 6:45 pm on the 26th of Dec.!!!

Danny (son) called to see if we'd be home Sunday, he's bringing Ethan!  Can't wait.  It's been a while since we've seen him.

The boss dropped in yesterday much to my surprise.  He may show up again today, and Thursday he's lecturing to the students.  Three more lectures later in the month, and he'll be outa here.

That's about it folks.
Have a great day!

Me again! A mini miracle has occurred. Did the old "shut it down and restart" and voila! My miracle. I can type fast again and get all of my double letters!!! Still doesn't catch all my typos but that's not the computers fault. I messed around with all the cords, shook the keyboard out (cracker crumbs, sunflower seeds, no telling what else) and then shut it down. Don't care what it was, but something worked. My day is made!!!!!!!

Good Morning Everyone! It looks like the gang's all here! I'm sitting here with wet hair- when I wear it curly I just let it dry. Yesterday I took the time to visit my primary care doctor- I just love him! I'm still having quite a bit of pain in my left arm, so he's prescribed three weeks of physical therapy. He thinks that deep heat and specialized massage will take care of it. He is also starting to document my rashes on my thighs... the plastic surgeon thinks I am one of the few that can get insurance to cover my thigh lift and my PC doctor agrees. So so far my insurance will cover breasts and probably thighs.
I'm one of the few crazy people that are still looking into buying a condo right now. My daughter and I are going to look at some more tonight. I heard that the interest rate dropped again today. I'm thankful that our credit is good and that our jobs are very secure. I'm also thankful that we aren't retiring for a while because all of our "funds" are taking the proverbial "dump"!
I am getting excited for you Frankenmuth travelers. That sounds like so much fun!
Last night I went to a great concert- by a group called "The Sons of the San Joaquin"- it was "Cowboy" music, not really country, more like cow trail music, guitars and fiddle and a cello with beautiful harmonies. Some of it brought tears to my eyes- it was so stirring.
Tomorrow I have an all day class with all of my fellow speech therapists. I always love those days... we are so lucky because we all love each other so much! Then on Friday I am serving breakfast and lunch to my staff at my elementary school. I have lots of Halloween decorations ready- they will be surprised when they see how spooky the table will look. I'm a big believer in "If you are going to do it, do it BIG!" The details always make the experience better.
That's it- I'm off to work now! Talk to you soon!

Good morning Vera and everyone.........

Nothing much happening here. Work and more work. The job is keeping me busy that is for sure!! There are so many people losing thier jobs and looking for more. The older you get the harder it gets....unfortunately. It is a challenge that is for sure!!

My cold is improving but my arthritis and fibromyalgia is not. The pain has been just about unbearable this week. The temps keep changing from 33 to 69...it is really messing me up!!

Karen......I am so thankful to you for finding that apron for Jamie (my daughter). She is going to be so happy. Thank you to for including the bookmarks for Jamie, especially for Nic, and me too. They will be cherished for sure!!! Bless your kind heart!!

Marc....once again....I love the Shed Rose!!

I pray that you all have a beautiful and peaceful day. God Bless.

Love and many hugs to all.......connie d

Hi Vera and my OFF family:

It's dreary and rainy here ... a good day to sleep in. I slept so well last night and into this morning. I was tired and my nose was runny when I got home ... thought for sure I was getting a cold. But nope, feel fine today, must have been allergies. I just needed to sleep soundly, that's all. I slept through most of the night, getting up once when I heard Diva barfing in the bathroom once (at least it was on uncarpeted floor). When I finally got up, it was 10 a.m. Nettie was under the covers and Diva was lying next to me.

Karen, I agree with you about the debates ... I get sick of them tearing each down. I want to hear about issues, not character assasinations. Give me substance! I didn'****ch the debates because I was at work, but I hear enough snippets of them from the news, and I get sick of watching the commercials. I have to edit the business pages, and everyday, it's bad news and getting worse. We have some serious issues in this country, and we need a serious leader, not a bunch of guys fighting over who did what 10 years ago. Tell me what you're going to do to make things better for me!

Margo, knock 'em dead at the interview. I've got my fingers, toes, arms and legs crossed for you.

Went to the insurance meeting yesterday; some good things, some not so good. Our drug copays are going up in some places, so that's not good; we are getting flexible spending accounts, so that's good. I'm going to have to put money away in one to save for the drug copays. The so-called menus are for various levels of care ... but quite frankly, I can't see going for anything but the "high" level at my age. Plus, they're changing things with the sick leave and calling it "short-term disability" ... so we'll find out more things next week when the vendors are there. But I'm definitely getting a flexible spending account.

Well, I should get going here. Hope everyone has a good day.
