As I said last week, this week is helping out Millie who needs recipes for healthy snacks.
I haven't had a chance to look through mine and so I am going to post this later on. I have a busy day and should have been out the door already and almost to the church office. As usual I am late~but then again what is new?
Alright ladies and gentlemen on your mark, get set, start posting all those healthy snack recipes!

You're early out ... follow what your doctor wants you to do. I don't know what the diet is for a realize band. I know for the RNY, I am allowed three meals and a snack, and nuts and seeds are considered part of the plan because they're considered protein. But follow what your doctor and nutritionist tell you.
Jeane,
Yes, seeds and nuts are often mentioned as a "problem" food for bandsters, I think mainly because the husks can accumulate in your stoma and cause a blockage. But I think it would take a LOT of seeds, nuts, or popcorn to cause a blockage (depending on how much fill you have in your band), and I can eat them (in reasonable quantities) without problems.
As for snacks, some surgeons are pro, some are con. I could not possibly survive without planned, healthy snacks. My blood sugar goes crazy if I don't eat every 3 hrs. This has been true throughout my WLS journey, no matter how restricted my band has been.
So, my advice to you is:
1) discuss it with your surgeon
2) listen to your body - don't eat if you're not physically hungry or suffering from low blood sugar symptoms
