IT'S SUNDAY - What's new?

Good morning George and the rest of my OFF family.

Today is a busy morning at church. The district superintend ant is coming to service and she is going to offer communion to us this morning so that is making it special for us. Britt is still in Ohio for his dad's funeral. Today is his last day as our pastor and tomorrow the new one comes in. I am meeting him at the office at 10 in the morning to introduce him to Jeri and kind of answer any questions that he has for me. I am going in early to help poor Jeri out with charge conference paperwork. The poor thing is so overwhelmed it isn't even funny. She is getting short with people and that just isn't like Jeri.

I don't think the rest of the day is going to be busy either. I like that one. Yesterday Bill and I went to spend some time at Big Lots and got about $27 worth of not much of anything. It is strange how you can spend so much money and get nothing at all. Really sad is the right word for that. But we enjoyed our time together and then we got home and Bill left shortly after for the bowling alley to watch Shawn bowl in his league. He is the only boy that has to have someone with him almost 24/7. I just can't figure that out. Must be something from his childhood. Thank God I can't be blamed for that one. But then again I am sure that someone from his mother's side of the family is blaming it on me. Oh well, what is a girl to do? ha ha

Misty is sleepy this morning. She has just been laying spread out on the carpet sound to sleep. Yesterday on the shopping trip I got her a toy that is a curly worm and she lays by it like she is protecting it. I also got her a kitty blanket. It says with the pictures that birds can fly and so should I. She loves it. I have it laying on the back of the sofa on top of the spread that I have on it so that the cat hair stays off the sofa. She loves it and lays on it a lot too. I wasn't sure if she would like it or not. She can be a most strange little kitty.

I guess I had better get to movin'. I had my shower at 6:30 this morning and now I have to finish getting ready. That means make up and it takes so much longer to get this old ladies face to looking decent for the public. I hate make up anyway and having to put it on for church and other places just about does me in. If I was just going to the store or such there would be no make up. I use to do it but lately it is just another chore to me.

I am sending lots of love and plenty of big hugs to go with it. I am keeping everyone in prayers and special ones are going up for those in need of them. Have a wonderful and blessed day today and keep a smile on your face and a song in your heart.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

morning! george-wow is all i can say about your "fitness' experience! and she gets PAID to be there languishing in the chair!!!!

yesterday i got to ride the mower for about 90 minutes- ours i sbroken-has been all summer so we have a loaner which was also out of commission--it got fixed yesterday so i got to ride- michael did some and i need to finish the front today-i actually enjoy riding the mower...it lets me think......the last place we lived we had more grass than here and many apple, pear  and walnut trees so i often was singing "God didn't make lil  green apples and it don't rain in minneapolis"...... you get the drift! so- mower riding is on my list again for a bit today.......

i also spent 5 hours at our DAR house- we were open for tours  of ppl who were at the Civil War Encampment at the Hayes Presidential Center  ( an annual thing) --well--we had good company -myself and 3 other gals --but not one soul came to tour...so it was boring and i shoulda been home cleaning..oh well- there will also be a group there today but i only volunteered for Saturday--seems that there was not enough pre - thought put into this so the word must not have gotten out in time- it was almost a last minute thing and we are not as close (distance wise) as the folks would like to think we are----ya know; it's a great group of gals but they just don't think some times! ah well...

as debbie said it's cold in ohio-i need to clean and clean some more so our hugamungous hibiscus can come inside

tomorrow and tuesday i am working double shifts so that i can be off on thursday and friday for frankenmuth!

i'm going to go play with elfster and post a last minute request for the halloween exchange - then i need to get myself moving doing something less fun that talking with all y'all !!!!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Jean,
Frankenmuth is a town in Mid Michigan thathosts a hugh Cristmas shop, German Restaurants, Shopping and a lot of festivals. A lot of tourists go there.
It is about 300 miles from Chicago and is centrally located.

We're having an Over-50 Forum get-together there Friday and Saturday. Ask Margo for more details, although there aren't any motel rooms available, there are some room in our rooms. It's going to be so much fun!

Good Morning Everyone,

I need to get back into circulation. I'm starting my winter hibernation mode way too early. I hate short dark days and kind of enter a blue funk dreading the onslaught. I don't even mind the cold as it doesn't usually get too cold here. Just absolutely hate the short dark days. Did I say that already!

It looks like we'll be in the new house by October 18th. I'm almost afraid to say a date, that it might get delayed even further. The inside finish work is really coming along. Kitchen bar is the only hard surface work left. Plumber comes in tomorrow. I'll meet with him to make final selections of faucets, towel racks, etc. Have you seen the new toilet paper holders??? I got so excited. It doesn't take much to get me excited. You just lift up the holder part and it pivots to accept the roll! Wow, no more spring thingys bouncing across the room! I don't care how much it costs I want one of those at least in the master bath. Don't give a rat's you know what in any other bathroom but the one you know who changes the most (at least in this house!) needs a new pivot one!

Fall has definitely arrived in Kennewick, WA. Leaves are falling. We had a small rain shower followed by high winds yesterday. So the leaves are a coming down.

Should be lots to watch at the new house this week. The rest of the concrete work outside, followed by sprinklers, fence and lawn. Had to postpone the arrival of my new sectional a week.  Carpeting this week too. Wow, that is the one that always makes such a difference!

Gotta run. My thoughts are so scattered, like my life right now. Actually, I have so much to be thankful for. I just forget to live in the moment. I get so far into the future or the past that I forget that today is truly the only day that we can do anything about. I'm going to make this a good one. Might take in a movie this afternoon. I think "The Duchess" is out. Sounded like one I might enjoy. You all have a good one.

Good morning everyone,
Interesting weekend so far.  Friday evening was music, dancing, fireworks at the anniversary of a local town named Seaside.  Yesterday was laundry and housework while enjoying the novelty of rain.  I needed some down time so spent the late afternoon and evening watching movies on TV and napping.  I'll get the bills paid this morning and after church I need to work on that fence gap and compost pile.
My surgeons office called with pre-op instructions and OH emailed me too.  I'm starting to believe that the surgery is really happening and it's coming up quickly.  How is it possible to be both apprehensive and excited at the same time?
Blessings to all on this sacred Sunday, Carmel Valley Linda
