IT'S SUNDAY - What's new?
Good morning all. A wonderful morning it is. But let me tell you about yesterday. (I cut and pasted the first part from a post I made on the Texas Message Board).
Last night, I got off work at 11 PM and had to be back at 3 AM, so I decided to go to the gym for a little while. I have the 24 Hour Fitness membership and there was a club in Valley Ranch (less than 5 miles from my work) that has been open about a year. So, off I went. I got there and the girl "working" the front desk was sitting in a chair in the waiting area, with her legs hanging over the arms. She had magazines strewn on the floor around her. I reached in my gym bag to get my membership card so I could be scanned in and she said "Just go on in." I went into the dirtiest 24 hour fitness locker room I had ever seen. Granted, I have only been to 5 or 6 clubs, but the locker rooms were always very clean. I changed and went upstairs (a 2 floor facility) to ride the recumbent bike. Well, hot air rises. The air conditioning does not. Extremely uncomfortable workout. I decided to go sit in the hot tub to rest my weary bones. The water temperature was below body temperature. So cold, I could only take a couple of minutes. Then I decided to try the sauna. The glass was not even fogged up in there the temperature was so low. So I showered and left. Leaving, the girl was still sitting in the same chair and did not even acknowledge me (all the other clubs I have been to, when you leave someone at the desks says to have a nice day).
I have sent all of the above by email to 24 Hour Fitness corporate office.
That was the end to what had before been a pretty good day. I left work from my Friday night shift a couple of hours early since it was slow and I knew I had a busy day ahead of me. Not too busy, but full. I got up and took Mary to a community garage sale she had set up at. I then went to work my part time job. Afterwards, I went by to pick her up. Had to load up the car. The stuff that was in there took her two trips to get there, loaded up in my DIL's minivan. When we left, we had all the stuff left loaded in my 2004 Jetta. Granted, I had to pile the last of it on Mary's lap after she got in the car. So, she left there with less stuff and with more money in her pocket than when she started. A win win situation. We went home and I napped for 2 hours before going to work at my full time job.
Now I am back at my full time job, after the "workout" and waiting for 8AM so I can go home and get some more sleep (I took a 90 minute nap when I got back to the building before starting).
Hope everyone has a good Sunday, and I hope your football team wins, unless it is the Dallas Cowboys. My favorite team is the J E T S, Jets, Jets, Jets. My second favorite team is whoever is playing the Cowboys.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Good morning to you as well.
I also belong to a 24 hour facily and it is so neat and clean I want to bring the staff home and have them clean my house.
Am so glad that you messaged the home office as the staff at that one sucks big time.
I have just had the best time with my grandbaby. My son dropped her off at 5pm last night and we got to have her as a sleep over. She is 10 months old today and is crawling everywhere and pulling herself up and standing and then she claps her hands and promply falls down and laughs. Sean will pick her up about 9am so we can go off to church for 10.
Sounds like your wife had a good day with her garage sale. I also have been getting rid of stuff, we moved from our 5 bedroom, 4 level split level to a 2 bedroom bungalow a couple of years ago and filled our new 2 car garage with boxes to 6 feet high. Hadn't realized I was such a pack rat. So it has taken all this time to sort boxes and I am still looking for stuff. We hope to at least be able to put 1 car in that garage this winter and maybe both by next. Fingers crossed.
Enough for now. Have a great day everyone.

Hi George and all,
What's new is that I am up at 3am because some drunk yahoos are right under my bedroom window yelling and arguing. I usually only sleep until around 4:30 am which is a big bummer, but now here I am. Made some sleepy time tea along with a resteril and hopefully I can get back to sleep. I have a pain in the butt chronic chest pain that won't let me get more than 5 or six on a good day, hours in to sleep. Whine whine whine.
George, I didn't respond t the pet post but I too have had rescued greyhounds and we right now have a long haired doxie, he is 12. Our smooth haired very very smart doxie passed away 3 summers ago...we still miss him, his name was Moose.
Tom has decided to work on the bedroom, striping the hardwood floors and building a floor to ceiling bookcase on one end, painting and sprucing up...so upstairs is in disarray.
I have a sore throat and hope I am not getting the crud everyone else is having around here.
Well, I will try to sleep again, and then up to red posts, get ready ad go to church...
Take care all,
Cheryl

Good morning George and OFFers,
I am not allowed to sit for long so this will have to be my THANK YOU to everybody.
My short hospital stay was excellent beyond words. Several of the nurses and aides recognized me from my stays as a patient as well as visiting bariatrics people after WLS. They were full of questions about WLS, my experiences and couldn't believe I was doing so well.
Two hospital dieticians came in to discuss the bariatrics menu with me and ask for input. I suggested they include more protein options and let patients know they can write in their preferences.
Walking the halls helped relieve the gas pains more than the drugs, not much, but that will happen in time.
My entire tummy is now mesh; from breastbone to bellybutton. My surgeon was able to insert it with 3 tiny incisions. I was so worried that the mesh would hurt but I don't feel it at all. The gas hurts!! Guess I have said that already.
My bed is a carpet of furbabies. I keep a pillow on my tummy for protection. During the night I awoke to Tony sucking on my socks under the blankets. All the others had surrounded my body and I couldn't move. Tom had to help me remove cats so I could get up. They missed me and are keeping an eye on me.
Tom has been hovering. I knew he would take good care of me.
Matthew and Melanie have sniffles so my younger daughter is staying away. Both daughters have kept in touch by phone.
I need to get back in bed. Boy, am I glad this is over and the healing process can begin.
Kisses
Annette
Dear Annette:
Glad you are home and that you have done fine so far with your procedure.
I agree that gas pains are terrible. I was dealing with some again last night just as I got ready for bed. I found that instead of laying flat, if I sat up in a chair at the desk and read a while, it helped relieve the pain. And I am getting very attached to my heating pad.
What's new for me today, is that my Granddaughter Kaitlyn has her surprise birthday party in my dining room at 2PM. She is 8 years old today! My daughter and her friend Heather came over last evening and decorated. PK the cat jumped on the plastic table cloth this morning and made a couple little holes, but that is the risk you take when you come to my house. I am planning on eating a sf ff popsickle during cake and ice cream time.
Hope every one has a great Sunday!

Annette:
I almost misread this ... I thought you said you awoke to Tom sucking your socks ... wow, I thought, you have a strange relationship. So I reread it. Oohhhh! It's Tony! It's the cat! Well, that makes a difference. I really need to get my eyes checked! Need new glasses, that's for sure. Thought you (and Tom) might find that funny.

Good Sunday Morning George and OFF! It's a chilly 39 degrees here in NW Ohio, but promises to be a sunny day. I have so much work to do around the house - like CLEANING, working on the bathroom, working on the yard in prep for winter but am I going to do any of it today????? I doubt it! LOL! Actually, I may, but I also may not do too much. Playing it by ear for now.
Still waiting for insurance company to approve the new c-pap so still not getting proper sleep.
Today we are having a dog walk - reunion of dogs that have been adopted from Planned Pethood (both of mine are) and it's at a park near me, so I may breeze over there with my two and take them for a walk. They may enjoy it. will give Angus something to do so he isn't barking at me every ten minutes to go out and pee 10 drops or what ever. who ever said dogs aren't like kids? Not ME!
I've been making some pretty poor choices in my food selections lately and need to kick myself in the butt to get going again. I'm hoping that once I get the c pap and get some sleep the carb monster will leave again.
Hope you all have a great Sunday!
