I have been floating between 181-186 for 3 darn weeks now! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh! I only have 36 pounds to go and this is soooooooo frustrating.

Does weight loss slow down when you get closer to your goal? Any suggestions?

I was hoping to be 170 by January 12th when I go to visit my guy (and shock him!). At this rate I don't think I will make it.

Me too, me too!  I can't seem to get past 181, have been here a couple of weeks now.  It's driving me crazy as I have about 21 lbs. to go for my goal and I'm so scared I won't make it.  I just passed my one year post op and weight loss has really slowed down recently.
You have done great with your weight and I hope you make your goal really soon!

Sometimes you just need to change up your eating habits. Try new things...maybe you aren't getting in enough calories or DENSE protein.
Are you getting in all your water, vitamins, and calcium??

Change your exercise routine alittle.....this will jump start you again.

Good luck....hugs, connie d

OHHHHHH     BEEN  THERE  DONE  THAT.....     It took me well over a month to get below 180#  Of course I didn't give up but gawd it was frustrating.    I had only 30 # to go and was wondering if I was ever going to get below 180..  Well,  finally,  I'm 177 #  and down a size   Hang in there,  it will come...   Millie

Thanks everyone. So I am not alone.

Apparently this is going to be a slow loss from this point on? I guess I may as well get used to it. I am really pleased with my results so far so I really shouldn't complain. I haven't been this small in over 26 years!

It would be nice to go down one more size before November 1st when I am going with some of my Barix gal buddies on a shopping trip. I need a winter coat!!!

My guy doesn't want me to lose any more weight ... but I want to.

Connie dear ... what are DENSE PROTEINS?

I always have to remember PEW when I hit times that the weight isn't coming off as good. But then again I am almost 1 year out and things have gone from 10-12 pounds a month to if I am lucky 3-5 a month. What a downer that one is. PEW is Protein, Exercise and Water. I can't remember where I heard that one but it works. Dense protein in the protein in your meat and dairy. At least that is what I always thought it was. It, I beleive works better than protein drinks since it stays in our little pouches longer. This is at least what I have picked up during the road trip.

Just pick up on PEW and I bet it will work. Good luck to you.

I'm late on this post, but I've had several stalls along the way, the last one lasting almost two months, since I hit the 9 month mark, the weightloss has slowed considerably, what I've done is made sure I am getting in 1000 calories per day, as well as upped my exercise to 5x a week, well it's working because as of Saturday, I was 171 and hoping to be in the 160s for my 1 year post-op visit on Halloween. . .  Seems for some of us, the closer we get to goal, the harder it is for the pounds to be shed. . .

Hugs, Laureen

P.S., I'm a Barix patient too (Langhorne, PA).

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

Thanks Laureen!

Congrats on getting the scale to move again!

I kinda figured that this could be the case (getting closer to goal). I am just so grateful for the great progress I have made! I just wish I could have made it a little further before this happened though ... lol.

I had my RNY at Barix Groveport OH

as you get closer to goal your body starts to slow the weight loss...thats what i was told...sooooo how come i am stuck at 190 for about a year now??? seems like i should be lower in my weight by now because i am almost 2 years out....but with all the stress in my life its no wonder i am still stuck at 190...hoefully now that i am in my new apartment with rick the weight will come off again...and if it doesn't...so be it!! i am happy and healthier now than i was 2 years ago so i am happy!!! (hate my bat wings tho!!! grrr)

congrats on how far you have come so far!!!! hang in there and like connie said...change the routine and see what happens!!

hugs

ps where in ohio are you?? i am now in willoughby, and wondered if you are close to me....

Hi Jusy

I am in NE Columbus Ohio.

That is the way I look at it too. I am far better off now than I was (healthier & happier for sure!) 5 months ago. Yes the bat wings are the pits ... lol. It would be nice to get at least 20-25 more pounds off (supposed to lose 36 more but I think that is going to make me too skinny). I will just take it as it comes and try adjusting some things to see if that makes a difference.

I was shocked to see that there are some of you out there in your situation (stuck for quite a while) so I shouldn't be complaining!!! I am coming up on 5 months out.

Thanks so much and good luck to you! Hopefully things will calm down in your world and you will start losing again!
