Wow its been a year since my surgery how time flies.  A year of lots of changes........A year since I found this group.........a year with two complete wardrobe changes...............a year of finally feeling better about myself...........a year of being able to be picky about what clothes I buy.............a year of feeling closer to my hubby.......a year of being able to fit in movie theatre chairs.................a year of not hearing squish squish when I wear panty hose.........a year of being able to see my toes when looking down instead of my belly............a year of walking up and down the stairs at work without wheezing and gashping for breath................and best of all a year of meeting new friends here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I saw my primary Dr. yesterday,  he seemed pleased with my weight loss.

I went in with a list of questions....at my age I write them down otherwise I forget half of what I wanted to ask.  I want my moneys worth when I see him.

Last year my cholesterol was normal and this year it went up over 200 and yes I fasted. so go figure oh well........so now I am on cholesterol meds.   That kind of bummed me out.     Also the last couple of months I have been having lots of acid reflux not sure why,,,,,,,,my band did slip a little.......wonder if that could cause it.   Guess I will have another list of questions ready for next week.

Next week I will see my surgeon I hope he will be as happy with my weight loss.

I have lost 85 pounds , I was hoping for more off by now.  But on the flip side I haven't gained.  By this time next year I will be down to my goal.

Barb, I think that you have done amazing this past year. It never ceases to amaze me the way that our lives change when we come to our new life.

I am sure that you feel the same as I do and never regret for one minute having done what we done and know that it was done with nothing but the best intentions for our health.

I wouldn't be to bummed on the cholesterol meds. You might be surprised what happens in the future. Things sometimes change too. And another way of looking at is that it could have been a lot worse than taking a pill a day. I have had to add some meds too and I figure if that is the worst thing that ever happens to me I will be so lucky and blessed.

Continue to do what you do and you will be at your goal in no time at all. I continue to wish nothing but the best for you now and always.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

CONGRATULATIONS BARB!!!

What a difference a year makes....you are doing great!

I wouldn't worry so much about the meds...your body is still adjusting things will level out.

    Hugs.......connie d

Congratulations on your surgiversary!  Sounds like you've done a great job using your tool.  My cholestrol has gone up as well, think I just have the gene that manufacturers it, though I have not gone on meds yet, I wanted to wait until I got my 1 year bloodwork done.

Once again, congats and best wishes for your continued "successing". . .

Hugs, L
