What's New Friday!!

Well goodness sakes...I was reading all the messages from yesterday and realized that it is already Friday, so thought I might just as well start it out.

I was over at my girlfriend house tonight...and a whole bunch of our other girlfriends came over to check out her garage sale for tomorrow....and to watch the Debate....Patti is an addicted shopper....so many beautiful things with the price tags still on them, from antiques to Christmas decorations. She has incredible taste and a real bad addiciton.....he spouse has asked her to please at least empty one or two of the storage lockers. She has a beautiful home, but her "dirty little secret" LOL is a bedroom upstairs and and bedroom in the basement, completely filled with clothes.

I should be in bed because I told her I would come over  in the morning and help her out. She is not real organized when it comes to things like this. Paul got a big white tent put up in their driveway, good thing becuase it is going to be a little cold in the morning. Supposed to be 38 degrees tonight.

Well, my business has completely...almost completely... dried up in this horrible economy. My listings are just costing me money, and they don't even get a showing. The stock market has done a real number on us too. But many are having a tougher time than we are.

I don't have that much to do, so I worked out an hour this morning with my girlfriend that just got back from Italy and we talked and talked and pretty soon an hour was gone.

Mike was gone today...so I made a big pot of soup and then I worked out late this afternoon for another hour. THAT is how hard up I am.

My son and DIL and my two precious little grandsons are coming for the weekend. I am very excited. I adore my DIL and we will have lots of fun.

Prayers for Annette and Margo......and all the rest of my sweet sisters and of course George and Floyd and Marc [hope your knee is doing well]

Have a wonderful day...Love, Marti

Not a great day in my household.  Mary went to work while I went to sleep.  The phone woke me up 3 or 4 times.  Then Mary calls and says she could not get in to see the doctor until next week.  They recommend she go to the emergency room.  She fell last week and landed face first on the concrete.  Nose was hurting.  Now she was having trouble breathing and her chest hurt.  I don't like to play with that.  So instead of the ER, I told her to go to Care Now - the deductable for that is less.  So she went and they said she bruised her sternum and will be sore for a few days.

She also talked about her insomnia.  The "doc" told her to drink half a wine cooler before going to bed.  I told her no, no.  Clear that with our RNYdoc first.  The wine cooler is carbonated.  Her and I have 36 months total post RNY with no alcohol or carbonation.  Not starting now.  At least not without the doc approval.

Now some brag time regarding Eddie (my 11 year old grandson).  He is a very good baseball player.  My son and I have been talking about how his coach uses him in the league he is in now.  He probably bunts 2/3 of the time.  My son spoke to the coach tonight about it.  The coach explained something.  He said the other night Eddie came up with no outs and a runner on first.  His team was behind in a very low scoring game.  Eddie got in the batters box and looked around.  Then he casually calls time out.  Strolls on down to the 3rd base coach (manager of the team) and says "Look where the 3rd baseman is playing.  I can bunt down the 3rd base line and probably beat it out.  At the worst, the runner will be on second with one out."  The coach says he is thinking ahead and making suggestions to better the team, regardless of what it does for his stats.  Coach said you don't see that in kids these days.

Eileen - Chicago (0-3) has scored 9 runs in 3 games.  The other guys have scored 23.  Not looking good for Chi-town.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Well, I'm not so worried about the Sox yet ... at least we had some offense (although they left the bases loaded). Vazquez is not my idea of the guy to start the first game of the playoffs. Definitely not a big game pitcher. Too many gopher balls.

I'm glad the Cubbies lost two to the Dodgers, though. Hee-hee!

Morning Marti and my OFF friends,

Got up wayyyyy too early this morning, but have lazed around and now will have to get a move on. Wanted to check in and wish Annette good wishes and prayers, see how Judy is doing in the new abode, and make sure everyone is doing well.

I've been so busy with all of my projects and work I don't know if I'm coming or going. This weekend won't be any better, and I'm actually thinking about taking a day or two off. But.....with the economy the way it is I kind of feel like I need to "make hay while the sunshines".  Who knows when people are going to start going to cheaper places for their hair services. So, guess I'll just try to catch up with myself along the way.

Sure hope everyone is doing well and that you have a great weekend. See ya!

Good morning, Marti and my other OFF family. Today is the end of yet another week and tomorrow begins the most favorite day of the week for me. Yea!!!!

I am going in to the church office~so what is new? Jeri didn't get much done yesterday except the bulletin for Sunday and then at 5:30 last night just a few minutes before I left for my meeting, Britt's wife Tracy called and told me that Pastor's dad passed away just a bit before she called me. So now there is no Britt for his last Sunday, we had to cancel the farewell dinner after church, canceled the cake and the chicken, and I have to go and help her to get the new bulletin done. What a mess. But we shall get through this time too. Same messes just a different day!

I talked to Britt last night and had a wonderful talk. I had tears in my eyes but I never let him know that. I am so glad that there isn't picture phones around here. I wouldn't ever talk on the phone since I look terrible most of the time and if I cry I look even worse!! Britt and I said our good byes and I feel good about it. I am glad that we got to do while we were by ourselves. I am going to miss him so much. We became friends and I will treasure that forever.

Bill is off to work and happy that today is Friday and he gets to go back on afternoons come Monday. He hates getting up in the morning and that is one of the reason he doesn't like days. He does like getting home earlier and just chilling at home with me in the evenings. I am going to miss him being home when I like him home.

I guess I had better get going. I am boring today and know it. I wouldn't want me to go on and on. ha ha  I am sending love and lots of hugs to everyone. Prayers are going up for everyone and special prayers and going up for Annette and everyone who is in need of them. Keep a song in your heart and a big old smile on all of your pretty and handsome faces.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
