News on my grandbaby!

I had a visitor yesterday. Shawn came over and spent the afternoon with me and then later his dad once he got home from work.

Carol is having her first sonogram sometime this month. So I am going to get to see Baby Whoozit soon. If it is a boy they settled on the name for him. It is going to be Caleb Taylor Lee. The Lee is named for Shawn's great grandpa who passed earlier this year and also for Bill's dad, so Shawn's grandfather. Taylor is Bill's moms middle name (her maiden name) and so that makes the names more special. They haven't settled on a girls name yet but in my heart I know it is a boy even though I would love to have a girl since they are so much fun to dress up and do things with. I could careless since as long as Baby Whoozit is healthy is the most important thing. Things seem to be going along fine and that is the best news of all.

I will keep you all updated and I am sure that as time goes on you are all going to say to yourselves "Here she goes again!". I am just so excited I can't help it so just bear with me during this wonderful and exciting time in my life. Nothing like the first grandbaby! I love being a Tutu and Bill loves being either a Grandpa, Papa or Papaw. He still hasn't decided yet!

Brenda, you are going to be a wonderful grandma!!  I remember those exciting days before my two grandsons came into our lives.  Sometimes the waiting was almost unbearable!  You might not be able to "dress up" a little boy, but they tug on your heart strings as much as any little girl.  My two have had me holding lizards and frogs - ewww yuck!  When they're around I get lots of exercise too!  At 5 and 6, the hugs and kisses are not so easy to get, but I still manage to get a few.

Thanks Debbie. I know that little guys are special too but just in a different way. I don't care what the little thing as long as it is healthy and happy. I think that grandbabies put a whole different perspective on your life. I am so in love with this little one already I can't stand it! I want to just burst.

Brenda, that is such exciting news!!!    I remember how I felt when my daughter in law was pregnant.  I have a 6 month old grandson and I can kiss him until the cows come home.  I'm taking it while I can get it --- he can't run from me yet.  haha

You will be an awesome grandman.  I wish you all the best for you and your family.  

My DH's favorite T-shirt proudly boasts 'If I knew grandkids would be so much fun I would have had them first!'. We love all five of our grandkids and unfortunately don't get to spend nearly enough time with them. But they are all gems.

(((brenda))) so glad that you are going to be included in this baby's birth and life!!!! i missed out on all of that with my kids and its a shame that they turned out so like their dad!!! i only saw my first grandson until he was 2 years old...after that never again...from what i heard my youngest son gave all rights to his 3 kids up and has moved on to be with a drug user and her kids...omg i just am sick over it!!!

you enjoy every minute of it brenda and have some for me too!!! (we hardly get to see anthony rick's grandson...but we did see him last sunday for a minute!!! he is getting so big and has fat legs!! he is about 5 months old now and sooo cute!!!)

There is just nothing like being a grandma!  It is a totally different kind of love.  I have a Grandson who will be 10 in Dec. and a granddaughter who will be 8 on Sunday (the surprise party is at my house!) and a grandson in Tampa Florida who I don't get to see near enough.

 * * * *   Brenda,   We can play the "my grandbaby is cuter than yours" game ! !   LOL  All of them are so precious in God's eye and of course we are blinded by our love for them.  

I felt "left out" when all of you shared about your pets.  We made the decision not to have pets in this apt.  It is safer for Mom to walk around without them..... etc etc   

BUT..... the joy of my life is my grandson.  I have 7 grands and they are so wonderful.  Four girls and three boys.   They range in age from 21 to 2.     The 2 yr old came into my life when I need that little extra something...  He is so darn cute.  He is one of those lil' tykes that steals everyones heart.  Not because he is mine but it is his natural personality.     Smart little guy too and at that age where he is learning everything....

Sooo  all that to tell you...  we will listen to you chat about your grandbaby .... as long as you listen to us too........

I know you are excited, and that's great. I'm glad Shawn is sharing this with you, because I know how hurt you were at first when he was shutting you out. I'm not so big on babies (call me crazy, I know ... I'm not normal) but I love my niece's little ones in different ways ... I can't get down on the floor with them because with my knees I'd never get up without help, but that Sammie is a cutie ... at Christmas he went around and gave everyone hugs and kisses after he got his presents. Just made you want to cry. Such unconditional love. He hardly knows me because I don't see him often, but there he is, giving me a hug for a present. Good returns, huh? You'll get there too.

Brenda......I am so excited for you....what a little bundle from heaven!! I like the name...very sweet.  

You will be the best grandma and this child will adore you just like we all do!!!
