What's new Thursday?
I am not usually up after 1:00 am during the week as I teach, and it's not a good thing to fall asleep in class, especially if you're the teacher. I have two German shepherds, and the smaller of the two has been crying ever since I went to bed at 11:30, so I am up with her. This is the second night in a row that she has done this, and I can't figure out what's wrong. Right now, she is sleeping quietly right behind me. Both nights, I've gone through all of the things that I can think of to try and figure this out: does she need to go outside, is she ill, is her water bowl empty, is she hungry, do her gums show any sign of illness (gray)? The answer is "no" to all of my questions. We have a vet appointment Monday. Until then, I guess that I will go to the college feeling really wiped out - and looking the same.
The cool weather has come. Prior to the last few days, we have had warm, sunny, low humidity days for weeks, so I guess that it's time that fall started. Funny to think that I am north of many of you and yet it's been warmer here.
I haven't had my wls yet. The provincial government had denied me. They haven't given me a good reason yet, but I think that it's because I am considered to be a lightweight!!! I have appealed and am waiting for the answer. Until then, I will keep my fingers crossed and hope that I have the surgery and look wonderful like so many of you. It's still seems like a miracle to me that the wls can be such a transformation in our lives.
Have I put you to sleep?? I think that I'm going to try to go to bed again and pray that my little girl German shepherd, Creena - Irish for "my heart" - will feel okay to go to sleep. If she doesn't, I may be back!!!
Hugs to all of you. Margaret
It's good to see a newbie starting us off. Are puppies like babies, in that their wimpers mean something? I have cats, so I don't know. (I didn't have any babies either ... just something I read.)
I'm up late because I work evenings and then I stayed up to watch the baseball playoffs. The other Sox (Red) beat the Angels in this game; I was glad to see the Dodgers beat the Cubs, because although I'm a White Sox fan, I hate the Cubs (If you're from Chicago, you can't be both a Sox and a Cub fan ... some say they are, but it's really not possible). Everyone just fawns over the Cubbies ... I hate them. Brenda knows what I'm talking about.
Margaret, I hope you will appeal the denial; you won't know the reason until you appeal. Go for it. WLS has been a lifesaver for me, as for so many others here.
I'm usually up late too because if it's not getting home late, it's various pains; my knee wasn't bothering me until I bent it again and now it hurts, just as I was getting ready to go to bed. Took all my drugs ... hope I don't have to double up on the vicodin tonight again.
I am getting sleepy though; checked my bank account and my payroll deposit is there ... however, things don't look very good. The week is going to be tight. I will have to be frugal at the grocery store today. Just two prescriptions, I still have a 3/4 of a tank of gas, so I think I can manage. Wish I got more for being a movie extra, though!
See ya later.
Good morning from chilly Niagara!
Darned its cool out there this evening! But it was a good afternoon for baking apple pies so I did..after my nap...Id had a busy day and because I hadnt slept last night, I was almost shaky from fatigue after my busy day out. So I put the pork roast and the potatoes into the oven and laid down..slept for two hours again. Now Im wide awake...lol.
BTW, Maragret, Im also a cancer survivor for nineteen years *s*
This evening, I relaxed watching CSI and unravelling my pink sweater still. I plan to stay home Thursday and do more artwork for the FEEL GOOD kits as well as moreo mandalas. I also have to make choclate bark for the conference sale on Saturday. White choclate with dried cranberries and sliced almonds and milk choclate bark with Skor bar bits. Using my EFT so I won't be "sampling".
It's almost 2 am here..Im off to bed!!

Nancy ,
You mandalas are beautiful and I can see where they can totally consume someone trying to color them ...
Your candies sound delish too for the conference . I have this recipe where you use saltine crackers ,milk chochlate etc and make a bark type candy that is amazing and so simple to do ..
REALLY YUM :)
Have a wondeful day

Susan, sorry about the misunderstanding. I have met Red. He was my baseball buddy at the Ballpark here. I usually arranged for his tickets when he was coming to town, as they lived 3 hours away. We left at 5:30AM and arrived in the Abilene area at 8:30. Smooth sailing. Went to Walmart to waste some time. Found some good deals. Spent about $45, but got a lot of stuff. Mostly clearance. Then went to the church, where Susie pulled up about 20 minutes after we got there. She was surprised to see us. She was bringing in the stuff for the memorial display and was disappointed that she had forgotten to bring one of Red's Rangers caps in. I came to the rescue. Of course I had one in my car. A very nice touching service. Special music was "Thank you" and "Beulah Land". Beautiful, beautiful music. Then there were the stories about Red. The laughing and crying. After the service Susie invited us to eat with the family. So we hung around and Susie and her son sat with us. We finally got on the road about 1PM. But that was just fine. Got home in time to take a 3 hour nap before going to work. And tonight has been busy here, so this is the first I am getting on OFF.
Eileen - I know what you mean about Sox and Cubs fans. One or the other. We are even worse in NY. You are either a Mets and Jets fan or Yankees and Giants. You CAN NOT mix and match.
Sorry to say, but I pick for the Series the Rays vs. Brewers. Lets see if I get close.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
you mention the smaller of the two dogs-is she also younger?? how long have you had her? has the other dog been traumatizing her in any way when you are gone? does she simply miss you and want to be close to you???? sorry-veterinary is not my field!! (haha!! i am lay person all the way!!except i do own a dog and have had many in my life as well as cats and kids...)
it's my understanding taht many Canadians come to the US for surgery when they don't get approved there-i am a lightweight so i know your thoughts there somewhat! can be distrubing when teh world doesn't understand the issues we too suffer!
i am slowly coming to grips with the grieving/selling aspect of the house-now i need to let go and let God if you will about the economy--i see it as futile to put the for sale sign out there when nobody can get a loan!!! ( and of course who put stheir house on the market in fall???well we bought in fall!!) however; we have chosen a very aggressive realtor who has a large and varied advertising budget and she will work to sell it--just so we don't give it away!!!! meantime not having a specific place to go to has me up in arms about what to keep and what to get rid of...i know...one excuse after another!! procrastination is my middle name!!! and ppl thought the P in MPM stood for Porter!!!
i love fall and enjoyed the weather yesterday tho it means that soon we have to bring in all of the plants- we have 2 hugamungous hibiscus and a smaller one as well as two hibiscus trees --they are heavy and they take lots of room--we find great pleasure in them and i am not sure what the plan will be when we do sell..but getting them into the house is an endeavor.....the two hugamungous ones michael has had since before we met 8 years ago...
since it is cooler i can easily wear my skirt and cardigan sweater set today to my interview! need to find some pantihose in the drawer and i'll be good to go!!! my concern is the "panel of 4" in front of whom i'll be interviewed! hmmmmmm........i would imagine that takes the place of a second interview situation thus saving them time and any miscommunications that could occur!!!what will be will be!!!
michael's worker's comp case is accepting the rotator cuff tear as part of the case-unless his employer appeals so this is a positive !( only 31 months after the accident!!!!) we got that word yesterday's mail....today he starts a new therapy- some medicine is injected and then electicity applied somehow-- hope it helps!!!
do ya ever go the cupboard really really wanting something only to find it not there? last nite i wanted hot chocolate ( and added protein) and no sf there!! darn!!!!
i love the idea of nancy's mandalas and printed out two to color--now the problem is finding some time for me when michael isn't judging that i should be cleaning the garage!!! i don't work hard at my job but it is stressful and things around here don't allow me to just relax like i should,,,,i feel the guilt since he is constantly doing something and it is becoming a problem...never mind that i am working basically 3 jobs outside of the house ( my real job, my plasma donations and now my cleaning job)...sorry-i digress back into whiny stage......maybe i'll gather my pencils and my mandalas and go to the library today for a bit after my interview!!!
roxie is behind me in the chair and really getting antsy this morning so i shall say goodbye for now!
sending hugs and prayers!
I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Sorry that you got denied and hope they will appeal it.
I had my surgery on Monday and have done quite well. Had some gas pains last night and ended up sleeping in the lounger. also have constipation problems. Called the Nurse practitioner at the surgeon's office and she said to take 2 softeners for a couple of days and call back if didn't work. Well, this is day two and I may need to call in the morning.
Hope you have a great day!
Jeane.
I got your message the other day and I am contemplating it. I do have some other ideas also. I will pm you later on with the thoughts after I talk with Bill.
Love and hugs and plenty of prayers for you dear heart. I will be cheering for you!!!!
