RNY 72 years old?

Hello Everyone,

I'm trying to get some answers for my Aunt.  She would like to know if any of you out there has had Gastric Bypass Surgery in your 70's.   She is 72 and is trying to find out if this may be an option for her.

my weight loss surgeon has done a lady age 74 or 75 i think....you can call them at 660-827-0423 this is in Sedalia MO. and she might have to travel this far to get find a doctor that will handle her case. My doctor says his older patients seem to do better than the younger ones..
they handle orders and instructions better.   lol see there are some things that we do better than the kids lol oh i was 65 when i had my surgery. im now almost 68 (omg when did that happen) and have lost 121 pounds   i started at 272 and am now down to 151 from a tight size 22 to a loose 10  feel great ...

A lady in my WLS support group had a lap RNY and she is 77 years old.  And she did fantastic. 

I think a lot depends on your aunt's physical condition (co-morbidities).  If she's serious about this, you can help her by doing some research on surgeons in her area.  She can then contact them and ask more questions.
