Samples of my Mandala Artwork
For any who may be interested, I have uploaded three samples on my profile. Please bear with me because I live in the BOONIES and have... *wails*... DIAL-UP! (yes, it's true).
I will gradually add more samples. These are my earlier mandalas and they get progressively more ornate. I hope that you enjoy them. Ive created a series of B&W mandalas for colouring.
Mandalas are actually Art Therapy for Stress Reduction & Relaxation. I personally find that colouring my mandalas works extremely well when I get HEAD HUNGER!
Colouring them in soothes my impulses, calms my breathing and centres my thoughts. I can focus better on colouring the mandala itself instead of thinking about FOOD.

What is a Mandala ?
Although you may not have heard of the word mandala before, you already know what it is. Mandala means circle in Sanskrit.
Circles are a powerful symbol found in every culture. We see them in halos, prayer wheels, and other religious symbols, architecture, and nature. Mandalas are sacred circles that have been long been used to facilitate meditation in the Indian and Tibetan religions. People create and look at mandalas essentially to center the body and mind.
Mandalas are entering medicine as a healing tool. An increasing body of clinical trials suggests that meditation can boost the immune system, reduce stress, combat depression, reduce pain, lower blood pressure, and stimulate the release of melatonin, a hormone believed to slow cell aging and promote restful sleep.
Mandalas are not just something to look at or meditate on. There are now mandala coloring books. Coloring a mandala using pencil crayons, crayons, paint, or pastels combines the benefits of meditation and art therapy.
To relax and to improve concentration, there are many things that can be done. One of these is, in peace or with soft background music, to colour in a Mandala.
Mandala more or less means "circle" or "centre". Shapes and patterns are added to a clearly calming centre point.
- Mandalas are healing mediums for the soul
- Mandalas are the merging of body, spirit and soul
- They uncover your own creativity
- You discover yourself and the real you
- You master your every day life and stress easier
- You become calm and gain trust and composure

Actually I create them on my computer. Ive learned how to manipulate the thickeness and the colours of the lines, how to create the colours and shades, how to create the designs that I want. Im now ready to advance even firther but I am not computer-literate so I need to learn more.
Mandals can be coloured with coloured pencils, pens, crayons, water colours, etc.
Actually, Connie, mandalas are often used in the stained glass windows in the old churches. In fact, the famous Rose Window IS a mandala!
I have done stained glass for many years and used mandalas designs ...even created the designs for myself...yet I never realized that i was, even then, creating and making mandalas.
