I think I am slow loser....
Helen - you are doing great! Look at the average lost per week - 4 pounds! And someone else has already mentioned - get out of the *I've only lost xxx* mindset - think positive - * I have lost xxx* - a year ago could you have said that???
Are you doing any exercise yet? That makes a big difference with my weight loss.
Be proud of what you have accomplished !!!
Okday enough of my 2 cents...

Helen,
You sound exactly like me for the past week or so. I am only 4 weeks out and hit a plateau! With a lot of tlc from the OFFers and my health coach I have finally accepted the fact that this is the way my body is going to react to wls. All I can do is exactly what my nut and dr tell me to do and hang in there. As Annette told me yesterday her wt lose was not a smooth curve downward, it looked like a drunken carpenter had built the steps in her wt lose graph. Looks like I'm going to be the same way. As several wonderful people (Millie, LInda) have told me over the past week - PUT THE SCALES UP AND STAY OFF OF THEM! I had worked myself up in a frenzy until yesterday. My scales now have a piece of paper taped over the display with the words "DO NOT WEIGH" as a reminder that this is not all about what number comes up when I step on the scale. It is about inches and more importantly about being the most healthy me I can be.
From what you wrote it sounds like you are doing everything the right way and using your tool to your advantage. I feel your pain. I wish all of my wt would just drop off. I know this is cliche but "we didn't gain this weight overnight and it's not going to come off overnight". Oh how wise those words are! Don't beat yourself up - be gentle. You are doing just fine.
HUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Donna...
I totally can relate to the "I wish all of my wt would drop off" mindset... but then... what would I wear to work ;)...
thanks for the reminder that I need to stay away from the scale!!! Only weigh once a week... and just keep doing what I have been doing... and work at getting more exercise.
Helen
