Blood Pressure Meds
Good Morning all OFF friends......I have a question . How long after having RNY surgery does it take to be off these high priced blood pressure meds and also CPAP machines? I have read different time spans. I am still waiting for a date............Maybe today is the day I will hear? Keep your fingers crossed for me, okay? Blessings to all of you.

Sandy, It is going to vary according to each person. I was just taken off my BP med this week. I am 6 months out. I will be off my CPAP machine shortly. The last time I was in to the pulmonary clinic I was told it would be checked when I lost about 75 # but it would vary according to each person's need and how much weight lost.
I was thrilled to be of most of my meds. However, as life creeps up on us like underwear ( just ask Margo) I am now on one med for osteopenia.
We are here for you and not only have our fingers crossed but will keep you in our prayers.

Hi Sandy,
At 14 months out, I still am on 3 different BP meds, so it is different for each of us. I think mine is based in heredity --- Both Mom & Dad took BP meds from age 40 on & never had a weight problem. I am just 6 pounds over Normal BMI, so I'm guessing my BP meds will be for life UNLESS increasing the intensity and frequency of exercise can help (I've heard it can help). It's great to hear how wls affects the others, but in the end we are all different & must do what's best for us.
