Happy Tuesday OFFer! Just for the record - I am very hard-headed! lol After talking to a good friend (4 years out from RNY) and my health coach from BCBSNC I am finally accepting the fact that I cannot compare myself to others; I cannot weigh more than once a week; some people lose wt steadily some plateau often - I am a plateu'er; I am doing what I am supposed to do and the weight will come off. My health coach had a really good way to explain this to me. She was also a plateau'er. Her dr told her that some people will lose everyday. Some will lose in spurts. But after a year everyone comes in skinny. Did you see it just get brighter in here!?!?! Maybe, just maybe, things are supposed to be this way for me so I can help others later on down the road. I just have to "ease on down, ease on down, ease on down the road"! My drill sargeant - I mean health coach also ordered me to put that scale up or tape a piece of paper over the display on my scale with the words "do not weigh" on it so I can't make a mindless mistake and step on it. Elementary but I think that will work!
B - 4 oz protein shake
S - 1/4 cup applesauce
L - 4 oz protein shake
S - 1/2 cup cheese and broccoli soup
D - 4 oz protein shake

My weight never came off is an orderly fashion. On a graph, I expected to see a nice gradual decline. Nope, it was a series of steps. Some long, some shorter, but it looked as if the steps were built by a drunken contractor with no rhyme or reason.
The tape measure was always kind and encouraging. I measured on my surgiversary date each month. If the scale didn't move, the tape measure did, but they never seemed to be in Sync. Eventually I made it to a normal BMI, in my own personal round about way.
Keep up the good work. You are doing a great job.

I'm going to HAVE to get my measurements. That will give me encouragement when the scales don't move. Above all, I have to learn to be kind to myself!!!!! Maybe a subliminal tape would help...
Thanks again. Hugs and kissies!

I found that just focusing on what I was supposed to do instead of weighing often, took away the diet mentality, and helped me to focus on my new life.
