I'm home from the hospital and feeling great!

Hi everyone... I just wanted to stop in quick and let you know I came home from the hospital on Saturday.  Everything went fine, no complications. I was a little nauseous on Saturday afternoon/evening and then yesterday morning I had some weird diahrrea which eventually went away on it's own.  But other than that, I'm feeling really great.  I want to do stuff but just don't have the energy level yet.  I'm getting the hang of my eating.  I just find it difficult to eat as often and as much as they say on my post-surgical full liquid diet plan.  But I feel really good!  Yeah!

I'll be back later.  I have to go do my breakfast routine and take a shower.

Laura,

Post-surgery eating takes a little while to get the hang of, just be sure to get your fluids in, keep you water with you everywhere and take little sips, they really don't expect that you'll get it all in the first couple of weeks, though I did pretty good at it, most people I hear don't!  The first few weeks, getting everything in will consume you, after a while you'll find what works for you.

Congrats on joining us here on the Loser's Bench and slow and steady for a good recovery process, sip, sip, walk, sip some more and rest!

Hugs, L

Congratulations Laura! Welcome to the bench!   I'm happy to hear you are home and feeling well.  Best wishes for a continuing easy recovery.  Walking helps a LOT, and sip when you can. I know how full you can get tho.  Isn't it GREAT!?

Congratulations to you, Laura. I think this new life of ours is such a wonderful and always changing thing. Just take it easy and don't rush things. If you are doing something and you get tired just rest. That is your body telling you that you need to rest. Listen to your body and you will be fine.

It is hard in the beginning to get the things in that you are suppose to. It is overwhelming at times. Know that no one is able to in the beginning and so don't worry about not getting it all in. Just do your best. My wls doctor told me that if you just add a bit the next day you are improving and that is all he expects. The same with exercising~ he said that if you take one added step a day he would be happy. I agree with that. It is something that is learned and we can't learn everything at one time. Heck, if we did we wouldn't have anything to learn eventually. ha ha

Keep on keep on and you are goingg to be fine. Welcome to the losers bench.

Glad to see you're doing well. Don't worry about the diarrhea ... that's because all you're putting in is liquids. If it continues, add some Benefiber to your diet. Your energy level will return. You've had major surgery, so you will be fatigued, plus you're not putting that much fuel into your body.

Welcome to the losers' bench!
