Good morning all.  It is a wonderful day in the neighborhood.  Mostly.  Except for my Mets losing.  But I knew they did not have the bullpen.

When we were at the Balloonfest last week, we signed up for a basket of food and won (I think everyone wins).  It was one of those "you get the prize if you let us give you a one hour presentation" deals.  It was for home delivery of food.  Mary told them we both had RNY, so we don't eat much.  The guy shows up at 1PM Sunday.  He plugs in the George Foreman.  We sit down in the living room.  He says "How much do you spend on groceries?" .  It just so happened I went to Albertson's that morning and spent $90.  And got a lot.  6 lbs of sirloin steak, 2 lbs chicken, 3 lbs ground turkey, 6 lbs cheese, 3 lbs ground beef, 20 yogurts, 14 bags of frozen veggies, plus other stuff.  The guy looks and says "I've got nothing for you."  He said his smallest plan is $374 a month.  He left us the food (2 TBones, 4 Sirloins, 2.5 lbs ground beef, 4 premade burgers, 2 chicken quarters, and 4 chicken breasts).  Free.  Thank you very much, now I will go back to sleep.

So it was a good day.  My freezer is stocked and I will not be buying meat or veggies for a while.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Ohhhh  my gawd  George.......  what a deal.    You are stocked up on your protein for a while.  LOL  It is amazing what we Americans spend at the store.  You and your wife must be very frugal.  Good job.  I canned fruits and veggies this summer but not too sure we saved much  because of the cost of canning.  I bought the produce ... didn't grow it ourselves...    Millie

Hi Carla and everyone. Another happy Monday [she said sarcastically]. Seems I only post on Mondays these days! LOL.   Weekend went by fast again. Went to Mom’s to help her set up and train her on her new printer that is similar to mine. Multifunction with copying and scanning, too. I love the scanner because you can save the file as a pdf. I’ve gone crazy making pdfs of everything these days. I have a pdf converter program [not Adobe’s] that makes it so easy to convert anything, even web pages, as pdfs. I digress… Took Sadie over to see the folks, too. They love her so, and she is so good in the car, unlike my lab Molly was.   Got ready on Sun for tomorrow. I’m having "Mr. Handyman" send someone out to replace 2 window sills that Sadie chewed up, install a timer switch for the outside lights, and install a new ceiling fixture in my walk-in closet, a new chandelier in the music room and a ceiling fixture in the guest room. Also am having him hang a heavy medicine chest I bought for the powder room. It is a beautiful carved wood chest but too heavy for me to lift and hang. I need some storage as the new powder room has a pedestal sink and no storage and is too small for any furniture piece. This Mr. Handyman franchise is national so we’ll see how it goes. They say they do so many things, even change light bulbs! Might come in handy when the 2nd story foyer and stair lights go out. LOL. We’ll see. I might have him back to mount my sunroom curtain rods if they do a good job. I plan to have a bamboo rod going across the whole length and width of the room, because there are so many windows. Doesn’t make sense to have individual rods for each window. So that means a 15 foot rod across the big wall – I’ll need help with that one!   Hope everyone has a great week! Yay, the Brewers made the baseball playoffs for the first time in 26 years! I’m not really a baseball fan and doubt if they’ll get too far as the wild card team, but you can’t help but get caught up in the fun around town.   Bye!

I'm baaaaaaaack!!!!

We got home about 4:30 yesterday afternoon, extremely tired but had a wonderful time. We drove almost 3,000 miles and saw beautiful sights.....lots of color in N.E.
We did a lot of excursions -- that really made it fun...
2 1/4 hr. boat trip on St. Lawrence Seaway/1000 Islands,
Ben & Jerry's Factory Tour, Rock of Ages Granite Quarry,
Castle in the Clouds, Norman Rockwell Museum, and lots more. We were in mountains most of the time. It was
great getting to meet Annette ....will try to get a picture
of the two of us on my profile.

Gas prices are lots cheaper out east....we saw $3.36 at one station and most were in the $3.40's....came back home and the price here is $3.68....boo hiss!

I did really good eating -- we didn't snack at all and weighed myself this morning and had lost 1/2 lb!!

Lots of dirty laundry to do today and pick up 10 days worth of mail to go thru.... will check in with bank and see how
the work load is and maybe will go in for a couple days.

Missed you all....wasn't time to check in on all the posts
besides a lot of the motels didn't have a computer.

Good to be home.....next trip -- Frankenmuth!

Have a blessed day,
Pat R.

Morning Carla, and Happy New Year!

Sorry about the cake. Good ol' cool whip to the rescue!

Not a whole lot going on here. Son and DIL came again for dinner yesterday. It's become a routine, they come and eat, Tess and I work on our new business venture and the guys watch a movie. It's really very nice, especially since Tess never really had a "traditional" family life growing up. Mom and Dad were each other's third spouse and divorced when she was 12. Mom has some mental health issues and isn't very stable in her own life. Hopefully these old married in-laws of hers can show her how family life can be.
This little business thing has turned into something incredible. We met with a new graphic artist over the weekend and should be in full swing production within the next 10 days or so. With the holidays coming it's a perfect time to roll out our "stuff".

Well, it's time to get moving. Things to do, people to see.

Love you all!

Susan

When we had our business we thought about show casing on QVC. Have you thought about that? You could really get a good start with the millions tha****ch that show....Just a thought....

Hope all is well with you and that you remember to take time for Susan....
