Hi, Its Monday September 29th!!!!!
Good morning to all of my dear OFF family, and I want to wish everyone who celebrates the Jewish New Year a Happy and prosperous New Year. I wish nothing but happiness and joy for all of you this new year.
Nothing much happening here. It is quiet since Bill is working days this week. Yes, his boss is on yet another vacation. It seems to me that she just got back from Florida but what do I know? ha ha I love it when he works days but he isn't a morning person. He never has been. But I like it because we get to watch t.v. as a family and get to eat dinner like a normal couple too.
I went to bed at 1 this morning and then I got up when the alarm went off at 5 this morning. I feel a bit on the tired side but not to bad. I have been on the phone most of the morning and then my 90 year old neighbor came over with her 2 great grands and I helped her with what money she has left after she pays her bills for the month. She comes over every month for that. I like helping her since it is kind of like what I did for my mom. Besides her family just lets go and she is on her own for a lot of things. But they are good at taking her to the store and to the doctor for her visits. She got something in the mail last month for her tax rebate check. She didn't know anything about her getting one and no one in her family told her or tried to help her. I filled out the form for her and she got it. She was so happy and when she got the check she came over and told me she got it and how she spent it. I am so glad that I was able to get her that check.
I guess I had better get to moving. I should be doing something around here. God only knows there is plenty to do!! I am sending love and hugs to everyone and know that I am keeping all of you in my prayers. Special prayers are being said for those who are in need of them.

Happy New Year Carla! Enjoy your days in Ft. Lauderdale, and say hi to your cousin Marla for me.
Slept late again ... it's gray and gloomy here, so that's why I slept so late again. Actually, I got up at 8 and went back to sleep, then got up just before 10 with Diva sticking her nose in my face ... "Get up, mom!" Ah well, it was time anyway. I did absolutely nothing yesterday. Tummy was kinda bothering me, so the chicken alfredo I was going to make for dinner didn't happen; I wound up grilling the chicken and sticking it back in the fridge; I may have it for dinner today, don't know. I had some cheese cubes and a HoneyCrisp apple instead. Didn't feel like eating much.
At least my Sox are still alive. They won yesterday and now have to play the Tigers today to stay alive one more day; if they win, they play the Twins at home in a playoff Tuesday; if they lose, it's all over. George and Laureen, sorry about the Mets. That's tough.
I don't expect much from the Sox, and then when something happens, I'm always pleasantly surprised.
Well, I should get in the shower and decide what to make for dinner. Got a big ballgame to get ready for today. Could be the end of the season, but there could be one more game. Wait and see!
Have a good day.

Good Morning Carla and All,
I just got back from a fire drill....it is so loud and piercing that you have to close off your ears to handle the sound. I have children due any minute, but the fire drill will make them late so I'll jot a few words here. Nothing new is happening for me this week except for the possibility of getting our countertops installed in the bathrooms. I will be excited about that as it will signal the last piece of the bathroom remodeling. Our kitchen cabinets will arrive on November 7, so the kitchen tear-down is just a month away. I have never lived through a kitchen remodel but I hear that it is humbling. We are clearing out the garage in order to store the new cabinets until they can be installed. I've found some things that I forgot that I had. I'm having a garage sale on Saturday- I need to run to the newspaper office today to put an ad in the paper. Speaking of weather- I can not tell you how beautiful it is right now in California. I know that we pay through the nose to live here, but the weather just can't be beat. Enjoy your Monday everyone!

Greetings! I have had so much work I haven't been able to post much. I shouldn't be posting now but I have missed you all so much. It was a busy Legion Auxilliary weekend. Friday I took a vacation day and went to the homecoming of the town I am a member in. It is so much fun. They are a very very small Iowa town but the parade on homecoming is always more than an hour long. I swear people come back from the dead to attend homecoming. Our group has a Nacho/Potato bar and we make money to send girls to girls state. It was odd not to be with Chuck at homecoming. Then saturday we traveled 2 hours and had an all day Fall Conference. Last year I was President and it was so stressful. This year I am Chaplain and it was so much nicer. The woman who is going to be The State president next year came up and asked me if I would be interested in a State office or appointment for next year. Itold her I would consider it. It is such an honor to be asked, but not sure I could pul it off it could involve a lot of travel that I can ill afford plus I drive a clunker. Also If I am not with Chuck why am I so envolved with an Iowa organization when I live in Nebraska and could do the same thing closer. cause I have made fantastic friends in Iowa, thats why. Dang, decisions decisions.
Yesterday after church my grandkids, mom and I went and checked out a local cemetery. My grandaughter and I take all these day trips to country cemeterys and have never gone to the ones in our own back yard. Oh my this one, Prospect cemetary was AWESOME. It is the first one of the area and swallowed up 2 other cemeterys. Many of the founding fathers are planted there.there are 15,000 people buried there. there are historic markers at many of the graves full of historic info. And we found more metal grave stones. I could spend a week in there it was so interesting.
There is an OH conference in Lincoln on OCT 18th that I am looking forward to.Still need to find a cheap flight to Ohio, Must make a goal to do that this week !!

Happy New Year Carla and all who celebrate this holiday.
We spent the morning running errands. It is damp and drizzley here but the colors are getting vibrant.
Tomorrow I go for the pre-op appointments. I plan to make a bit of noise and remind them NOT to give me any meds from my allergy list as they did last time. Shall I write them on my forehead in red marker?
