Hi, I'm 59 so I guess i qualify for this forum. I'm just starting the process and hope to have the surgery in February, 2009.

I'm a Sox fan too ... amazingly ... I grew up on the North side, in Franklin Park, but now live in West Michigan. You are embarking on a great journey. I was overweight all my life, and had weight-loss surgery (RNY) four years ago. It was the best decision I've ever made. I have lost 180 pounds and kept it off.
The Sox aren't making us proud this year, are they? They're fading fast. But at least we are the only fans in town that can say their baseball team brought home a World Series championship.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Eileen, I'm hoping the Cubs win something this year, just to shut them up. They can be annoying at times.
