Linda: I believe that each of us has a purpose or a reason to be where we are, with the life experences that we have been through.I think that perhaps your purpose right now is to encourage and help the rest of us on this website with your strenght and experience and testimony. I salute you Linda for giving a strong message  of courage to all of us who struggle with life's problems and dealing with each day after our wls. I somehow feel that God has sent you to us as an angel.

I at one time was ashamed to say how high my weight was, I got over that. We all have stories, and we all help each other.

30 grams of predigested whey protein (shakes).  Unless you are doing bodybuilding, then you can absorb more.

Foods? no idea, nor does anyone else. I do not count my food proteins as my daily intake cause I don't know how much is absorbed, I only count my shake intake cause I know what I get from that.
IF I GET ANY FROM FOODS, THEN THAT IS A BONUS.

I have a disease called obesity and it has been corrected by surgery that causes Mal-asorption.

I believe it is somewhere around 30 grams.  I remember at my pre-op meeting asking the Nut about the Grand Slam from GNC with 50 grams and she said do not bother with it because we do not absorb all that protein.

Well, that makes sense. Thank you....smile. My NUT told me 120 gms a day, how about yours?? I know people who are more active do more..

I was told between 60 and 90.  I believe the amount required depends somewhat on your starting weight. I usually start the day with a protein shake (approx 20 grams) so I know I can make the 60 easily.

Thank  you for sharing mine's may have been so high based on weight. Anyway, I never hit 120 anymore and I am still losing.
