Time for the great protein debate...
I am a cheese stickster myself. I remember people taking those protein bullets, and their doctors telling them they were not getting in enough protein, and therefore NOT getting the expected weight loss....so I ponder...and wonder...and get feed back.
Of course after losing almost 300 pounds, I know I am doing something right..

You sure must be doing something right.
I always bring a container that has swiss, mozarella, and mild cheddar.
I could not stand the bullets or most other protein drinks, but the Atkins Advantage did me well. Drank two of them a day, plus had one egg and one ounce of cheese for breakfast. Doc said that was fine.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
During the early times, I drank Acheive. I drank a lot of my home made high protein milk, used strawberries and different s/f flavorings. The milk had 16 proteins and I believe Acheive had 20, which brings me back to pondering about the protein....also YES, I hated the protein drinks, and believe me I tried a few of them, like kissing frogs.
Only in some cases, I am sure the frog would have tasted better.
My NUT and Doc put me on food very early, I was afraid!! She said I had to do it, get used to food, and I could have only one protein drink a day, that if I could not handle food, they needed to know. She also said some people stay on protein drinks so long, that the food textures turned them off and that was not what WLS was about.
The professionals differ so much, when I visit the main board (not often), I see people still on protein drinks 7 or 8 months out, I just smile and wave, and back away slowly...

I thankfully got put on regular food today. I am a week out. I don't get to have fruits and veggies yet until about 6 months out but I can have poultry, beef (ground), pork, and any thing that swims. There are a few other things like milk and cheeses that I can have too. I was really getting tired of just protein drinks.

I have to admit that I don't know either. I do know that I feel better when I eat mostly protein with my meals. There is some days~like yesterday when protein is just about the only thing that I eat. When I don't have much of an appitite I just make sure to concentrate on that. When I am not in the mood to eat a lot of times I grab a spoon of peanut butter. That is at least something with it in there. I am one that loves cheese with my whole heart but I can't eat a lot of it since it makes me so constipated. Not a good thing. You may not beleive this but I get cranky! OH NO! Not me you say but just ask Bill about Old Cranky Face and he will sure tell ya! haha
I eat mostly dense protein and I do drink Slim Fast low carb shakes sometimes for breakfast or a snack. I can't tolerate those protein drinks either. I loved the Muscle Milk light in chocolate milk flavor but since surgery they are discusting to me. I can't stand the taste or the texture. How things change after wls. I would have never believed it until I experienced it.
