Coongrats.  Glad you carried on through.  You will be too.

I had no pain either.  My pain pump actually fell out within about 5 or 6 hours of my surgery.  The nurse came in and saw it laying on the bed.  Said, "I guess you don't need this any more."  That was it.

My wife liked Isopure.  I personally took Atkins Advantage shakes.  My doc approved it, so that was the way I went.

For vitamins, I use Bariatric Advantage.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Congratulations on getting thru the surgery Janet!  Welcome to the loser's bench!  I use Flintstones Vitamins...They are not too bad...nice and fruity.  I drink the bariatix Proti shakes, but I drink Wildberry and mix it with extra water.  I make sure to use LOTS of ice and very cold water.  It helps for me, but I have had band surgery and am not sure how it would affect your pouch, tho everyone is different.  I got Isopure pre mixed at GNC here.  Continued good wishes for your speedy recovery!

My problem with the Flinstones is I only like the orange ones.

Haha! I just don't eat the red ones.  I make my son eat those...Same as the red popsicles.  I make him eat those too.  I don't like cherry flavored anything, except bing cherries.

Thanks, Cara. I have a snowcone maker and it helped a lot to mix the protein shakes with the shaved ice.

Aloha Janet and congratulations on taking this HUGE step toward freeing your body to become healthy, fit and mobile again! You should be very proud of yourself.

I'm sorry you are feeling nausea...but glad no pain. Each of us experiences this process differently it seems, but I think most report that it gets better day by day, as I think yours will too. As Darlene said, I,too, took Actigal, a small pill for stones....and it was easy to swallow. Took that for six months.

It may be trial and error for awhile until you find a protein concoction that you like. I drank, and still do almost every day, Walker Diet shakes. In addition to 24 grams of protein they have lots of other vitamins included....a big bonus for me. You can find them at Vitacost.com if you are interested. Shipping is only $4.95 and I usually buy six cans at a time, and blend them with fruit, ice and benefiber. To me, they are yummy....but you might hate them. I would suggest ordering one can and seeing what you think.

Keep up the great work.......you are on your way!! Life will get better every day.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Thanks, Karan,  for your reply! Also for the advice about the tablet instead of the huge capsule! I am calling my dr. tomorrow.

I drink the Unjury brand protein mix but the only way I can drink it is to mix it with coffee (decaf) and add a little milk or half & half.  Either the chocolate or vanilla is good mixed with coffee.  It mixes easily just by shaking.  It mixes best in room temp liquid, not hot, not cold.  Add ice after its shaken. You can order at Unjury.com and it comes in individual packets so you can try it without buying a large quantity.  Eating will be a new adventure for you.  Not much will taste the same. Some things you used to love will not be appealing at all.  You may get sick for a while on some foods but this depends on the person. In any case,  you will be so thrilled to see that scale moving south you will not care much about what you can't eat right now. Plus you need lots of rest the first month or so.  Good luck to you and let us know how you're doing.
